Thats the way we did it too. Emailed the forms before sending it to them so they can let us know. They were very quick in replying. No new updates. I have not sent the fingerprints in to get digitized yet. I looked at the website for XL-id and it says they include the RCMP fees if required. My partner had his fingerprints done using forms from another company so I sent an email enquiring if we need to pay the extra $25. If this company doesn't give me a satisfactory answer, it looks like we have the option of going with XL-id as they said it might be possible to obtain the fingerprints and send it to them even if we didn't use their forms. I imagine it would be the same format, only we didn't use their forms. So I'll wait and see what the other company says about the fee.
Thanks for the info on XL-id. Any news on your end?

Does anyone know what to make of this:
It has been saying that on my GCKey account that Our background check has been in progress since the time of SA/file transfer. (We never even got the message "the next step is to do a background check", it went immediately to that since the time they changed the format in March or late February). We did submit a PCC from my partner's home country upfront with the application as per country specific instructions.
However, it took them 7 plus weeks for them to open our file at the VO (We only saw the line "We started processing your application on May 4, 2017" in eCAS" last week). So I am a little confused. To me, they couldn't have possibly started the background check in March if our file hadn't even been opened (I assume it is the VO which does the background check, correct me if I am wrong). Do you think that they just made an error in putting down the message that our background check was in progress since March?
I am wondering because I want to know what is the likelihood that the will still ask us for the RCMP police check if our background check has been in progress since the beginning of March (there has been no request so far). I am in the process of submitting the forms to a company to have my partner's fingerprints digitized and get the report done first before and just in case they ask for it, so as to avoid a longer delay in processing). Also I wanted to know what stage we are at in the process. If anyone had this happen to them or know of another case like this (the background check was in progress before AOR2), please let me know.
TIA!
I have heard from another thread that to lessen the workload from the local VO cpc-missisuaga has started doing part of the background check from march ..Does anyone know what to make of this:

That is interesting! I had not heard this before. Thanks for sharing that information! If this is true, I hope that it will speed things up with the application. I guess we will find out.I have heard from another thread that to lessen the workload from the local VO cpc-missisuaga has started doing part of the background check from march ..
Good to know that other people have had the same thing happen. I guess from what Tajnuba posted, they might be splitting up the work with the background check, which is good, because that might mean that they have already have done a bit of work with the background check, probably with the PCC we had sent upfront with our app.Hi there, we are in the same situation as you. Our GCKey has said our background check has been in processing since before we got the email from CIC informing us of the file transfer to Mexico. Now that you brought this up I am a little confused/concerned as well. We got our AOR1 on April 4th though so we are further behind you guys. I am wondering if contacting the visa office or CIC would be a good idea to find out what happenes with the background check. My husband and I were thinking perhaps that Mississauga starts processing the background check and then the visa office finalizes everything. Thats my thought on it though.
We uploaded the Schedule A forms directly through the GCKey account. Shortly after that, I read that they had difficulties with this process so were telling people to upload via webforms. I recently read that now they have a backlog in attaching the forms to people's applications. So I am happy we did not have to go through that. Did you have to use the webform? That may be true. In a way it would make sense to do that especially for the Mexico VO which deals with like 22 countries applications which seems rediculous. Yea the Mississauga Call center is pretty much useless when wanting to find out anything, its like pulling teeth for them to tell you anything helpful about your application. Our eCAs hasnt shown another line showing a date when our application started being processed at the VO and we havent gotten an AOR2. ECAS only shows medicals received and that the PR side is in process. And then we got an email from CIC that our file was being transferred on April 24th. Other then that no other updates. I wondee if it makes a differenc in your application if you had to send additional information through Webform or through GCkey. Were you able to upload additional documents through your account or did you use Webform?
On May 4 we received the change in status on our app.We recieved everything through GCkey. We were able to upload Schedule A through there and also got medical request through GCkey. I have alos read people have been having dificulties getting information through their accounts. Im happy I didnt have any issues with that. I suppose its just a matter or being patient. I will monitor my email and account and see what happens by the end of this coming week. If I dont see anything I will probly try to call the call center and ask about the background check. Does mexico have a phone number you can call or its only by email? Also do you know how long they would take to respond to you by email?
Hi,We only ask to submit schedule A but we had no request that's why I can't upload it on my CIC account. So I decided to upload it on the webform because it's almost the deadline. They only gave us 30 days. We just send the PCC upfront. I received the medical request from CIC before I sent my Schedule A and PCC. It was from CIC.
