I am planing to order GCMS notes it has been 9 month from the date they received our application and I still don't know if medical is passed and if they are ok with my police clearance certificate or need new one and just want to know if they did something with our case or not.
Should I apply for me and sponsor or is it better to apply separately each one for himself/herself or it doesn't matter?

Welcomeback profiler, glad you guys are done with your landing.
BTW did they give anything there after interview was over or just told you to wait for PR card to come via Canada post?

I really have to figure out how to delete my account again.... It was deleted, but apparently during their update/upgrade/change-over to a new forum that was not carried forward.. The forum is sending notifications to me as well, which is friggin annoying during development meetings...

@matthars : thanks!

@Topalev :No, they only handed us the COPR. The PR Card comes from NS later. GCMS notes can be applied for under the Privacy Act. If you include a Consent form, you can apply as the Sponsor for both PA and Sponsor's information in one package. PA fills out Section A, Sponsor fills out Section C, sign and date. Include it with your ATIP request.

@fabianonetto : Do not private message me. You want me to respond to your apology, let's do it here, since you seem to like to use the public forum to call me out.

Let's recap your statements:

On sylvain1's authority, I will begin my rant. (SORRY BROWNING -- I TRIED SOO HARD!!!)

With all due respect,
There are about a dozen there that are from March, or even before, who have not heard anything at all. Sure, a few may have jumped the line -- but I bet those who did had a case that had less complexity than yours. Simply put -- your case is not the same as anyone else's -- therefore your query, "Seriously what's the criteria after all" is baseless, because there is not a single thing in common between any of the cases that CIC has every processed since the beginning of time.

I'd suggest you just remain patient, and when they have finally finished assessing your case, they will be in contact with you.

$0.05

Best of luck!

The statement you made is baseless. The statement you made here:

Are they really processing June 2016 on while people from April and May are still waiting?

Come on I thought after all that happened last year they were finally going to start doing it in order but I see some from June and even July already having SA and even one from June already landed

Seriously what's the criteria after all? Are we supposed to guess what's the right time to submit the application? lol
; has no basis in fact. If there is "a criteria", please share with the class what you suspect that is. Because there literally is no case in CIC history that is the same, ever. Even if they are identical twins that filed at an identical point in time, their cases are different. So, I stand by my statement that it is in fact a baseless claim. There is no criteria to expedite your case. There was no negative or derrogatory tone attached to this. It's a fact.

I know. Thanks for your great support. Some people think it's simple. Like profile said it doesn't matter too much since his wife wakes up and goes to work everyday. Good for them but my situation is a little bit different and I'll try to summarize it for you

We applied inland end of May 2016. At that time we were told by our lawyer that the processing time was about the same for both inland and outland which was a total lie especially cause our home country (Brazil) used to be one of the fastest ones to process outland applications. To be honest we'd rather be apart from each other for some months than going through all this. Anyway, we decided not to apply for an OWP for my wife once her English skills are really basic, almost none to be very honest and our thought was "how's she gonna get a job without speaking the language?"

We decided to wait for a bit and let her do some English classes. That was another issue too cause we thought that at least with AIP she would be able to do English classes paying local rates. It's not like that so we had to pay like $7 an hour. That comes out to something between 400-700 a month. On a single source of income, you can imagine that it's not reasonable so she, unfortunately, had to leave her classes after a couple months.

Next thing, once she's not eligible for OHIP we were like "OK, there may be some private health insurances right?" Wrong again, it's insane how there are no regular health insurances in Canada and you can only apply for Visitors Insurance that covers emergency/urgency costs. So sponsored spouses get to a limbo. My wife has good health but she has some existing conditions that are not let's say a matter of life and death but that require her to be followed up by a doctor every now and then. Can we do that with her insurance? NOOOOOOOOOO. Cause it's not FU..... EMERGENCY..... In other words, her hormones went crazy and other things that I'll not mention here due all the stress and everything but again if we want to see a doctor for that, guess what????? $$$$$$$$$$$

After figuring out how long that would take, we decided to finally apply for an OWP for her back in December 2016 and hope that she finds someone who can give her any entry-level job even with very few English skills so she can at least help a bit out with the family income as well as apply for OHIP in case she manages to get a full-time position.

Last March, her father happened to pass away. Her OWP was not issued at the time and I called CIC to ask them if in this specific case she could leave the country to attend the funeral and have any kind of guarantee that she'd be able to come back with no issues. We all know if an inland sponsored leaves the country and does not manage to return the application is considered abandoned and the answer I got from CIC was

In other words, the decision remains on the border agent. Considering that we are low on funds and we would only be able to afford a single ticket back home for her, meaning I would not be able to go, guess what? She lost the right of attending her own father's funeral once she didn't wanna take the chance of being rejected on the way back. And since he was cremated HEEEEEEEY she doesn't even have a tomb where she can take flowers to whenever she goes back home. Exciting and fun hey? Nice how Canada deals with families and how supportive they are... I'm not a refugee but a taxpayer right? So who cares about me?

@profiler my friend. Exciting hey? Piece of cake I'd say huh? What do you say? What if it was your wife?

So now you understand what's my feeling like? How this process' struggling us? How I really wanna have this done sooner than later so we can simply start living our lives instead of me just going to work every single day and coming back home. Not managing to do any kind of thing cause I have to save money in case my wife gets sick? Sorry, that's not what I left my country for.
If it was my wife, I would have planned it better. I would have insisted she study English before immersing her in an all-English society. I love my wife, but I am not able to constantly be at her behest to help her, while working. And frankly, she would have gone crazy and left. The 4 month wait was too long for her OWP as it was. To top this off, you're asking me, in a very pointed tone to comment on how I would have handled this. And we did survive, without any insurance for her, on one income, thanks.

I am not you. We are not friends. Your behaviour has precluded that possibility.

Canada is not a prison. She could have returned home.

Yeah but the way he answered my previous comment when I complained about seeing people from June and July being processed while we were still waiting was, from my standpoint, ironic and disrespectful.

He may not have any concerns once his wife is fluent in English, has a job, so most likely they live on two sources of income and she has access to health so his case is really a matter of time and not a matter of need.

He should think a bit more before trying to be fun as he doesn't know what people are up to.

As my father in law used to say, "everyone has a black box. think what one may be going through before sharing your thoughts"
I'd appreciate you not advising me how to conduct myself. I do not do that to you, so I would expect the same simple courtesy. And I would also suggest that you don't attempt to evaluate my life, or my concerns, just as I did not do to you, as they are not your business.

Thanks for the words instead of making fun of my statement
I assure you, if you felt I was making fun of you, you are sadly mistaken. I would be happy to give you an example, if you wish?

That is definitely good news
I never wanted him to leave. What I felted offended with was the fact of him saying that my question was baseless. I never said that my wife's PR had to be issued before everyone else who applied after us cause I know each case is different. My complaint was that there are lots of applications receiving SA and even landing at the same time that I get my GSMC notes and realize that my application was not even started yet. That's my point. My understanding is that for them to start looking at a given application, they have to have started all applications that were submitted before that one. Now once an application starts yes it can take different timelines to be finished.

He said that my statement was baseless. No it wasn't I have evidence of both people who have applied after me being processed while mine's not started yet and that from my standpoint is a hell of a base. Also he mentioned that the wait is not a problem saying his wife wakes up and goes to work everyday and they have a normal life. It's not like that for everyone. I really whish he told me how would he feel if his father in law passed for instance and his wife did not manage to attend the funeral due to the process.

Best of luck for everyone here
"That is definitly good news" said in response to the same statement that I had left. Which is it???

Lastly, you do not need to issue an apology. Do not message me any further, and mind your own business, please.
