Hi,

I came to canada on a closed work permit to my employer in india. I will complete one year in Canada this April. I extended my WP to next feb (2018). I am thinking about PR as I want to setlle here in Canada. Now I am sure my employer wont sponsor my PR so I thought of going through Express Entry. Now can you please let me know if I can apply PR at the end of year's experience (Apr 2016) or is there more conditions for me to apply as I am on a closed work permit?

Thanks in advance :)

There are no conditions that will stop you to apply for PR. Best of luck!!

However, there is one advantage that you will get if you are on a closed work permit.
1) Extra 50 points for job offer. (Provided you have a letter from your employer stating that they will continue your employment for 1 more year after you get PR)

AND

2) Employer name is mentioned on your work permit wherever you have secured 1 year exp and teh same employer should issue the letter mentioned in #1

What are your points?

Thanks for the information. I do have two questions about this..

Say I don't want to continue with this employer, and I have a 8,7,7,7 in my IELTS, can I still use this 1 year experience ? This is if my employer is not ready to extend my stay and I stil want to move to Canada and search for a job here.

2nd thing is I entered the same points and my experience details in canadavisa.com and it gave me 482 points. I am giving my IELTS next month and I am sure I will get the above score. Did i do this right?

Hi Ram,
Yes you can apply for a PR even if your company doesn't want to keep you for another year. There are no other requirements for a closed work permit holder. Assuming your one year work experience in Canada is within the skilled worker category (NOC: O, A or B). You will also need to have your educational credentials assessed (if you haven't done that yet) which can take sometime taking into account the time required for Indian Universities to issue the transcripts. Your CRS score will then be based on all these factors: age, education, language skills, Canadian experience, spouse factors etc.
All the best for your application!

Rambhai Jay Shri Krishn,

From your information, raise a hope from your side. (also from other Gentlemen)

I have applied for closed work-permit from India through Agent. My process is still on going from last 3 month but no update.

I want to know about your case, how you get closed work permit from India? how you proceed for?

Still I'm confused after 3 month of application, Is it possible to get closed work permit at this way by paying some money?

Thanks in advance....

Hi,

I have an Intra Company transfer (Work Permit with LMIA) processed by my Indian Employer. Can I use the same to claim 50 points?

Your response is much appreciated.

Umm... ICT permits are LMIA-exempt.... so which is it, do you have an ICT permit, or an LMIA-approved TWP?

Can I use the same to claim 50 points?
Not enough info... first need to know which permit you have. Also need to know how long you have already worked in Canada, and how much time is left on your permit...

I got a closed work permit - inventory control clerk (NOC - C) in February 2023. Can someone guide me on the next step for the PR?

NOC C is not eligible for Express Entry so look at the PNP program where you work.
Thanks so much.
Can you guide what should I do next?
Since I got the work permit in February 2023, should I wait to complete 1 year of experience before applying for the PNP program?

For Alberta.

The company is in the business of bathroom accessories and interior designing. So how to find out if the company falls under the construction or hospitality category?

Probably neither. Google by NAICS code. May be technical design. Why do you need to know that?
