Hey guys,

I received sponsor approval 2 days ago. We applied from Dubai and my husband is from Pakistan. CIC sent his visa application to London visa office and I am very confused here. I thought Abu Dhabi will be his visa office as we applied from UAE

Processing times are very different for Pakistan and UAE. Which one will apply on us?

On your SA there was an explanation stating that blah blah based on nationality etc.I'm also a resident here in GCC but non citizen. So they based on my nationality that's where they concluded that my visa office will be based on the country of origin/nationality.

yes...don't take it personally.....sometimes people are not on the system for some time..

Hi everyone.. I just want to seek advise and help from anybody. my wife requested notes and on the last 3 pages, it stated there that a visa officer from CIC Canada requested an update status of my case being processed at ADVO.. a visa officer from ADVO replied and stated that the requested documents, Saudi Police Clearance and Passport copy have not been received yet since it was requested July 2015. However, I already sent the requested original docs the following month via ARAMEX.. and as per the online shipment tracking, it was delivered to Canadian Embassy Abu Dhabi and received by "ss im" on Aug.12, 2015. I've been waiting for so long and assuming that background, security and criminality checks are currently taking place..

It was really frustrating to know that if we did not request for notes, we may not be able to know the current situation and status of my application.. and ADVO did not even care to send information letter about the requested documents not being received that has been due for more than a year against their timeline!! and the worst, if not someone from CIC Canada requested for an status update of my case, ADVO may not know about those outstanding documents, where in fact someone from their office had already received.

Any inputs and advise what to do will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If the date you made the ATIP request was PRIOR to the date that you submitted the documents, it would not show up on the GCMS notes. Also, it seems to take the visa offices some time between receiving the information, looking at it and logging in GCMS (even months). The only way to know is to wait 1 or 1 months and request another set of GCMS notes.

If the GCMS notes were ordered AFTER you had already received confirmation that the submitted documents were received by ADVO, then I would send 1) a copy of the GCMS notes section showing they indicate they are waiting for the requested documents and 2) proof of delivery of the documents to ADVO. This should trigger them to either look for them or update the GCMS notes.

Thank you for the quick reply chilkootcee... we requested the ATIP just last September 2, 2016 and received the notes October 2, 2016.. I sent the document August 8, 2015 and as per the ARAMEX online tracking delivery information, it was delivered to ADVO on the 12th of August 2015.. it's been a year, more than a year even.. and the notes made by an ADVO officer was dated 22 July 2016- stating that they haven't received the requested documents until that day since it was requested on July 2015.

Do I need to send email via case specific inquiry and attached the airway bill and the screen shot of the delivery history where it was indicated that the shipment was received by "ss im" and also a copy of the requested docs? or can I send an email and attach necessary proofs directly to the email addresses that appeared in the notes? (email address of the visa officer from CIC Canada who initiated the request for status update , email address of visa processing office in Missassauga and the email address of the visa officer from ADVO who stated about the non-receiving of the requested docs). Thank you again.

every morning i check mycic to see if there was any updates. When i had checked on october 4th, I noticed this change, of the background check process has started. Not sure if they would have started it earlier but only got around to updating it on the 4th or if they actually started it on the 4th. I also check my husbands email from time to time, as he is busy and doesn't always get to check his email. that day, after checking mycic i checked his email. there was an email saying that there was an update on his application. he is the PA, so he is the one who got the email.

have you linked your Ecas with mycic? if so the PA should get an email whenever there is an update to the application, if you don't want to check it everyday.

even though i am a canadian citizen, i hope they arnt picking files based on if your a citizen or pr. that isn't fair!

There is only 1 thing that doesn't make sense to me....if you received the request and submitted in Aug 2015 and they perceived that they weren't sent, I would have thought they would have sent you an email or decision stating blah blah blah because they hadn't received the documents....so just be sure based on the GCMS notes that it is clear they have not received them (maybe they did but didn't log it)

I would send a case specific enquiry and include:

A) a letter explaining the situation 1) that you had received a request for documents (state which ones) on XX date and sent them via courier with a confirmation of delivery on XX date and received by XX 2) that you had ordered GCMS notes on XX date (approx 1 year later from receiving the document request) that seem to show that the documents have not been received and you are concerned because they were sent and delivery confirmation recevied

B) copies of the delivery confirmation

C) copies of the original documents sent (passport and Saudi PCC)

Hopefully that will help. Then apply for GCMS notes a month later from the date you send this to see if they log the CSE in the system.

Can't guarantee anything of course cause I suspect documents were also lost related to our file at ADVO....

Many thanks for patiently responding Chilkootcee.. Actually that was also one of my concern, its been a year since they requested the required documents and they don't even bother to send follow up or reminder letter about my outstanding documents. It was only on the recent GCMS notes that we requested that made us aware about the situation..

I sent an email via case specific enquiry stating that we just learned about the outstanding documents they require thru GCMS notes that we received on Oct. 2, 2016.. and I attached a scanned copy of the ARAMEX Airwaybill, screenshot copy of the online tracking delivery history from point of origin up to shipment delivery with the initials of who received it, copy of my original KSA Police certificate with all the finger prints, copy of the English Translation of the police report from an accredited translator and a copy my new passport. I also included a scanned copy of the last 3 pages of the GCMS notes containing the notes of the visa officer who initiated the status update request to ADVO and the one from ADVO who replied and stated that they have not received yet the requested docs since it was requested July 2015.

I sent the same email directly to the email addresses of the visa officers (from CIC Canada and ADVO) and case processing center in Miss. that appeared on the GCMS notes. I hope its also fine sending them emails directly as their email addresses were made visible in the notes.

My wife reiterated that I need to call ADVO to make follow up or inform them about the situation and let them know that I sent an email thru case specific enquiry with all the proofs attached. Do you think its a good move if I do so? I have already sent emails and I think we just have to wait for the best, give ample and considerable time for ADVO to do their part concerning our case. And as what you have advised, we will request GCMS notes again after a month for us to see any progress. Thank you so much for your kind reply.

Hi, I submitted in Abu dhabi Visa Office via VFS Qatar. I am under Spousal Sponsorship. I wanna ask how long will be the time frame for stamping?
Submitted last Oct 5. Btw my paper was processed in manila but i am resident here in qatar. As PPR email..i can send it to nearest vac. Am i correct in sending my passport to VFS qatar and they sent it to anu dhabi?

Because in my case it's the original hard copies of the requested documents that they stated have not been received since it was requested July 2015. That's why I sent an email through case specific enquiry reiterating that I have already sent the documents attaching the proofs that I have, especially the screenshot of the ARAMEX delivery history.

I will try to call ADVO tomorrow and clarify the situation and for me to know what action can they extend with my case. Thank you for the advise. I hope we can overcome this situation and resolve the problem.
