I do not want to miss the interview to wait for notes, I can think of a few reasons they may have questions, but there are no lies or un-truths in our application. Our lawyer has advised us that since our relationship is genuine, we shouldn't worry too much, and tomorrow we are meeting with him to go over some of the questions so we can be prepared.

Our lawyer is also going to accompany us to the interview to take notes and bear witness so there is no bias or confusion. Not sure how common it is for people to bring lawyers to the interview, but I am relived that he is coming with us.

We did not have a long paper trail of emails or much hard proof of communication between us in our application (other than some emails, cards etc.) and I feel like this may be the reason they are bringing us in. We know other people who have gone to the interview and have succeeded.

I am taking a letter of employment, Rogers (phone/internet/cable) bill with both our names on it, more cards, letter from landlord stating that we both have been living together at our address since 2011, and our Ontario driver's licenses with matching addresses. Also our hydro (electric) and gas bill is in my spouse's name, and we have one joint bank account that has been active for three years. I hope this will be enough proof for them.

One thing you can get is parents, relatives and friends to write letters of support. We didn't have too much proof. My common law husband is from Brazil and we've been living together since 2012. We were approved without any questions. We had about 10 pictures, a joint bank account, joint lease, a receipt from mail forwarding showing the address I moved to, some envelops that were addressed to both of us and letters from relatives. I really think the letters made all the difference, they were heartfelt and talked about how they're proud for him to be a part of the family. Good luck with the interview, let us know how it goes :)

We have al, of those things and sent with the application. Letters from my uncle, parents etc. We on,y had maybe 20 photos, but that's simply because we don't take many. We d Not have emails because I don't understand why I would be emailing someone I live with. We have a few forwards etc. No love letters or anything. A few cards etc.

I think it is due to the fact that my spouse does not currently hold a visa of any kind, and technically shouldn't be here.

Our lawyer has updated us that it's somewhat uncommon to be called for an interview, and the letter accompanying states that we did not provide enough evidence with our initial application. It say we need to bring: 3 months of bank statements, more mail/bills with both of our names on it, more photos, letters etc.

All of these things were included in our intitial application, but we have since then amassed more. I'm also bringing my old cell phone full of texts, as well as my new one. We are also getting more letters from high ranking people as to the legitimacy of our relationship.

Our interview is March 2nd and we will meet with our lawyer again before to practice. Still very nervous, but it is entirely out of our hands now.
