Hello! Thanks so much for all those who have been posting information here! It's very helpful!

My question is will I get my PR card before I complete my medical surveillance for inactive TB? I landed Canada on May 6, 2014 and I had my first appointment with the nurse at CDC today (June 3, 2014). She gave me 3 bottles for sputum test. My next appointment is on Sept 4, 2014 for an x-ray and to see the doctor. My understanding is I need to meet the doctor to discuss the test results.

I haven't received my PR Card yet but I am planning to go back to my home country before Sept 4th. But my COPR clearly states it is not valid for travel and the immigration officer in the POE told me to wait for the PR card before I leave the country. Will I receive my PR card even though I haven't completed my medical surveillance yet? Please advise. Thanks!

Note that I did search here for any existing posts related to medical surveillance and PR card. I did find some information that the PR card will be issued regardless of the medical surveillance but that information was as of 2011. That's 3 years ago. I want to confirm that it is still the case. Please help.

As the current processing times for a new immigrant's PR card is 92 days, I think that you are worrying far too soon.
PR cards do not depend on medical surveillance. However, if you fail to comply with the surveillance, you can be reported.

Hi although it's almost 5 years now, can you update about PR card. Did you receive PR card before completing medical surveillance. What happened exactly. Thank you
