Work permit expiring before PR approved

Hello,
My post graduate work permit is expiring end of June 2014, i just sent my application for my PR under the experience class. I know i won't get a file number for my application before my work permit expires.

i'd like to stay in canada while i wait for my file to open. How can i stay as a visitor while its still in process, as i won't be able to work. if i could get a link.
how long can i stay as a visitor, and what is visitor? is it a canadian visa? or is it a permit?

also, can i leave the country while my pr is in process, and i am here a visitor.

any help would be appreciated

you can apply to extend your work permit just before your current expires, you gonna pay for it, and they gonna refuse it, but it will buy you addition 2-3 month,s you gonna be under 'implied status"

Hey! I am in a similar situation. My PGWP is expiring on Jan 15, 2024. My PR is in the process but i don't think i will get AOR before my work permit expires. I know i can apply for BOWP but for that i need AOR. Can i apply for bowp before AOR and since its gonna take some time, i can submit the AOR through a webform once i receive it (maybe a month later)?
