Do notarised translations expire?

I got the pile of my papers that I need to have translated. While digging in that pile I found I still had certified/notarised translations of some of the documents (birth certificate, diplomas etc.) that were done in 2011, some in Moscow, some in London. So my question is, can I still use those translations for my sposal sponsorship application? Is it an issue that some of my documents are translated long ago and in different countries?

I know of no time expiry provisions in the instructions and it would be somewhat surprising if there were any: a translation does not lose its accuracy through lapse of time, unless of course they are centuries old and the language has in the meantime changed! I would use the old translations until someone at CIC tells you that they want it otherwise!

Thank you I was thinking the same, its not like info on passport and diplomas change and not like the language changes. But couldn't find anything about this in guides so decided its safer to ask. From what I read on this forum you never know with CIC. This process is making me paranoid

Hi, hope you are doing well. I have the same problem old translations. Did you send the old ones?Was CIC ok with it?

I'm not sure if it's helpful, but I've been using the same translated/notarised birth certificate from ages ago several times for applying a TRV visa to Canada and other countries. So far I didn't have any issues. In the end, it's still an authentic document. I'm going to use it for this time too.
