Hello
I would like to share my experience in getting a temporary work permit in the quebec-US border near montreal. The closest border near montreal is saint-bernard de lacolle. It is easy to go by car (approx 1 hr ). We took a greyhound bus which goes to new york which will stop in the US border for flagpoling. The border personnel are very familiar with the procedure. We got down from the bus and then told the border official in the US side that we want to go to canadian side for getting a work permit. They asked us to wait for sometime and gave a letter saying " denied entry into US" .After collectin git we walked a bit to the canadian side and gave this letter in the border inspection . They directed us to a canadian immigration and custom building where we gave our Lmo and CAQ documents . They took our old work permit and issued a new work permit. Its quite easy , not much crowded . The whole process got finished in 1 hour. But taking the public transport , would suggest everybody to check the bus timings since the bus is not frequent . But it is quite inexpensive way of going and coming back . Each ticket cost 33 dollars (aller-retour).Thanks for everyone who took the time to read it . I am not from visa-exempt country but i had a canadian Temprorary resident visa valid until april 2013.
