Do I need to mention accidental overstay in UAE on Canadian citizenship application?

I was recently in the UAE visiting my parents at their request. They asked me to extend my visit and one of my parents (working in the UAE) and I went to the Amer center to extend my visa and paid a visa change fee. My parent saved the fee receipt and we got a new visa to cover my stay extension. When I left the country, the border officer told me I overstayed. My other parent paid the overstay fine and an exit fee and we were allowed to leave the country under humanitarian/compassionate circumstances. 2 weeks later I re-entered the UAE with no issues - in fact, the border officer stated that the system showed my extended visa as "not used". I have since left and returned to Canada.

My parent plans to seek further clarification on what went wrong since we followed all instructions.

My question now is do I have to report this in the optional documents in my application for Canadian citizenship? Since there is no question asking directly about overstays. Is it enough to keep the documentation about this question organized in case I get asked?

Do not answer questions which are not asked.
