Try to follow the instruction here:

Open work permit: Applying as a sponsored spouse or common-law partner in Canada - Canada.ca

Specially the part about what to fill in on the type of work permit and job title and brief description of duties.
They need to be entered as specific values for the application to be processed under spousal/common law sponsorship for OWP.

Anyways. im having issue connecting my Application to my Gc IRRC portal. I click the link and fill in the details i input 1 as the principle applicat as i dont have any other member or dependent. (spouse In-land application) but it says no application can be found.

When i go to the other tracker it only lets me log in with the sponsors details but not under the principle application.

any advise on how to link it to my Gc account?

Hmm i believe it is. however, you can try to search other vids on YouTube and try to see if one of them can get you through the right option

Iv managed to apply to the SOPW, and received my application number. as soon as i submitted and paid online.

How soon before you can track it on the online tracker?

What is the next steps or if anyone else has recently applied what happens next? how soon before they got it?

My entry stamp on my passport say i must exit Canada by 7th may 2025

I have my AOR for inland sponsorship.
and i now have my Application number for SOWP.

has anyone received the work permit before 30 days? or do you think i will have to apply for extention? (im a British citizen with a eTA that doesn't expire until 2027)

If i should apply for extension. how soon should i apply considering the above info?

Hi Yes this is separate BIL from the PR application.

For Pr I only have my AOR number. Nothing else as yet.

However for Open Work permit I have received my BIL today the same day i submitted my OWP application.


(A new BIL is needed for PR. the OWP BIL will not be used for the PR application from what i can see on the Canada gov website.)
