Nope. It’s for all of us.
IRCC calculates processing times based on how long it took to process most complete applications in the past six months. Here’s how it works:

1. Data Collection
• IRCC looks at applications that were finalized (approved or refused) in the last 6 months.
• They track how long each application took from the date it was received to the date a decision was made.

2. Finding the Average Processing Time
• They exclude outliers (extremely fast or slow cases) to get a realistic processing time.
• The published time represents how long it took for most (not all) cases to be processed.

3. Weekly Updates
• IRCC updates these estimates weekly based on recent processing trends.
• If processing speeds slow down, the estimated time increases (like from 25 months to 28 months recently).
• If processing speeds improve, the time decreases.

Key Takeaways for You
• The 28 months is an estimate—some cases are faster, some are slower.
• Your actual processing time may be shorter since you already passed key stages like eligibility and pre-arrival.
• If many recent cases were finalized quickly, IRCC might reduce the estimate in the coming months.

Your GCMS notes will give you a more accurate view of your case’s progress!

AOR Received.
27-10-2023
Hello everyone,

Today, I spoke with someone who had submitted their documents in October 2023 and had received their COPR. When I talked to them, they mentioned that their work permit had expired, but they did not extend it. They also said that those who extend their work permits experience a longer PR process.

I wanted to know if it’s true that if a work permit expires and is not extended, the process becomes ،not more complicated. Is there a solution for this? And is it correct that extending the work permit makes the PR process longer?

I think is not true. Unless the government wants to have persons without a valid work permit. So they can't work and ask For social assistance .

Thanks for the information. I applied in May 2023. Already received pre arrival in August 2024 and eligibility in September 2024.
I hope it won’t take long. But the processing time is not about new or old application. If you call IRCC agent will also tell you that processing time is 28 months and you are still in timeframe etc.

I

I asked my lawyer and MP, and they said it's for new applications that haven't started processing yet.
No problem. You can call IRCC and they will tell you how long is the processing time. For example when you apply it was 17 months but now it’s 28. And your case is still in progress. And you applied 19 months ago. You can’t tell them it’s over processing time. They will tell you right now it’s 28 and you are still in timeframe. They won’t take any action.

IRCC agents always tell you maximum and give you formal reply, they can’t give you accurate time.

So you are saying that if processing time was 15 months the day I submitted my application, even if it’s 28 months right now for me it’s 15 months? I supposed to get my pr in 15 months?
Not that much of difference average processing timing if u still
Waiting means it was 19 months when u submitted and it is huge gap I was seeing 24 months since 2023 December around so now its 2025 March means it’s two year’s average processing time, u will get
If u submitted when it was 19 months mostly in 25 months or early

It is for new submission or the people who submitted in 2024 till now will follow 28 months processing time

I think IRCC want to finalize each case in 24 months but when many cases remain from the past IRCC increase the time that pervious ones are included in this time frame .
I think the fast processing involve the officer who review the case .
As you see in Forum 2022 many people remain from that time .
I hope all of us hear good things very soon .

Hello everyone,

To whom has already got their GCMS notes. When you receive the note will the Rec’d date be the pr submission or the refugee claim? As I am trying to determine my child’s lock in date and based on IRCC website: Where to find this information- GCMS: Claim received date (“Rec’d Date”).

If anyone one could provide me some insights will be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know how long it takes for a dependent person outside Canada to receive their PR after the main applicant gets their PR inside Canada?
I applied for PR in Feb 2023 and received the AOR on 15 November 2023, eligibility & pre-arrival on 15 FEB, and also received to process the PR application on 15 FEB. Now, I am waiting for a final decision. so please, please, can anyone answer the above question about how long it will take to process the overseas dependent after getting PR?
