I have a visa which is under W-1 | Worker Category which I got first time when my closed work permit was approved and I sent my passport to stamping. Do I need to apply to TRV as Visitor visa or my current visa is good?
You need to be holding a valid TRV to re-enter Canada.

Hi, I'm on the same boat. I was laid off on a closed work permit then I temproarily left Canada leaving behind my personal belongings in storage and car. Now I want to travel to Canada to take care my stuff and probably search for a job. Can I enter with a closed work permit and valid visa or I need a visitor visa to enter to Canada? Thanks in advance!
Am on the same boat to I got fired a week ago. I don't know what to do

Same position? Were you on ICT and when you came to Canada there was no work for you?
I came to canada on closed work permit with employer restrictions. My spouse just started working a month ago in open work permit. My PNp became invalid and hence no PR Not sure how we can stay longer. Our work permit expires Feb 2026. I did check my CRS score it is low around 480 with max marks in language as well. Not sure what to do.

You cannot work for another employer so you need to decide if you can stay in Canada with no income. You can look for another employer who has an approved LMIA. Learn French to increase score. Or focus on on spouse getting PR.

You can stay until the expiry of your work permit. Unless you know French, your score is likely too low to be selected.

It’s a bit difficult to learn French in such a short Time. I’m trying for LMiA sponsored jobs. I don’t see any eligibility criteria being met for my spouse as he started working 2-3 months ago for an Ontario employer. Can I apply for Human Capital Priorities stream for him, he qualifies for FSW and has a score above 400CRS. In a TEER 1 role full time

What is your NOC? Is score and NOC selected?

Ultimately it depends on how badly you want PR. People on this forum have managed to learn French with 8 months of concentrated study.

For Human capital priority stream, it will depend if your spouse's occupation is on the list for the targetted draws and exactly how many points he has. What is his NOC and exactly how many points does he have? Provinces are reducing draws so I personally wouldn't count on this.

His NOC is 22221 with 480 Crs.
