Hello folks,

I have ordered a marriage certificate on October 13 from my wedding that performed on September 7. On October 27 I received the following update on the online status inquiry.

We received your application for Online (15 Day) Service on October 13, 2016.

Processing was completed on October 27.

The marriage certificate(s) has been sent by regular mail to the address you provided. Delivery times are based on Canada Post’s delivery standards.

It's been a week since and the certificates do not arrive yet. I know I'm a little impatient but I would like to know how much time Canada Post will take to deliver a certificate from Toronto to Ottawa. Are they going to call you before delivering it or something? It's the only document that we need before sending our application.

Thank you very much,
Vasilis

It took a week for us to get ours, my husband lives just outside of London, ON.

It took us 16 weeks to get it. Rather 16 weeks to 'locate' it. 3 days after they found it.

Yes, I meant once it was actually in the mail. Much longer than that to actually get it. If I'd known when we ordered it that we could state we needed it urgently to send in our application, I'd probably have ended up being an early August applicant instead. Alas! ;)

When we ordered ours, they told me it couldn't be expedited. My long-form birth certificate could... (as the first time requesting it, it 'takes longer'). I had that in 3 business days from TBay (and we are in KW).

Hi,

i am not sure if anyone is still active on this thread, but I would like to now if there is any way to speed up this process for a marriage certificate . 10 to12 weeks is extremely long and do we need to pay a feeto get it done faster? Please help and advise.

This may help: https://www.ontario.ca/page/how-get-copy-ontario-marriage-certificate-online

I advised a friend last year to used the premium service but that was after their marriage certificate was ready. Not sure if you could speed up anything before that
