what should i do please help. thank you
Same here. Paid the fee again on 27th Dec 2024 but not received BIL letter till now. No point contacting IRCC they have standard answer that it is within timeline (21 months) so IRCC will contact you. Regarding the call- please note that always use the option of call back in the end. They call back within an hour most of the time.

No need to panic you did the right thing by not including your Canadian citizen child on IMM0008. Here's s a breakdown to clarify things:

1. IMM0008 (Generic Application Form for Canada Who to include: Only non-Canadian family members who are applying for permanent residence (spouse, common-law partner, and dependent children).
Exclusion: Canadian citizens and permanent residents are not listed here because they do not need to be sponsored or included as dependents.
You were correct to only include your spouse and non-citizen child on IMM0008. Your Canadian citizen child does not go on this form as a non-accompanying dependent.

2. IMM5406 (Additional Family Information Form)
Who to include: All immediate family members (spouse, children, parents, siblings) regardless of their citizenship or immigration status.
You did the right thing by including both children on this form, even though one is a Canadian citizen.

Why was someone else's application rejected?

Their rejection was likely due to not listing all family members on IMM5406, which is required. Since you included both children on IMM5406, this does not apply to you.

Should you send a Webform to explain?
In your case, you do not need to send a Webform because you followed IRCC guidelines correctly:
You left your Canadian citizen child off IMM0008 (correct).

You included all family members (including your Canadian child) on IMM5406 (correct).

IRCC understands that Canadian citizens are excluded from IMM0008 and won't penalize you for following the rules.
Thanks, @Miss bee ! You gave me peace of mind.

I have a follow-up question. I’ve been seeing quite a few posts saying that their file has been returned. What does it mean if your file is returned? How is it different from ADR?

There are some "high importance" documents that if you don't submit them with your application, it'll get returned. This means they'll refund you what you paid and you would have to reapply from scratch. Most of the returned applications I've seen are because of missing birth certificates or police records.

Other people just get ADR (additional documents request) for things like missing information in a form, or additional/updated police records.

I, for example, got ADR for an address gap in the Schedule A form and for my original marriage certificate (only submitted the translation).

Hi @Miss bee my friend has a non express PNP application. he's currently waiting for his FD and got laid off from his job. He has passed his eligibility and has been working for more than 1 year since he got nomination. Currently he's doing intreviews for other jobs under the same noc he was nominated for. Will this affect his PR process? Should he inform IRCC?

Hi, thanks for the response! It’s nerve-wracking waiting for AOR and reading experiences of other people ending getting their applications returned. Some because of missing child’s info while others for not having been able to submit an important document. Sure, some of them might not be discussing complete details of their applications getting returned, but for readers such as myself, we end up overthinking of possible outcomes.

It’s good to know you got only ADR. I hope all is well with your application now. Thanks again

Yes it will. Usually if this happens applicant is responsible for reporting it to the respective PNP about the situation and if they couldn’t find a different employer then application is canceled.

Hi @Miss bee, i received my AOR from Sydney NS office, does it mean this is my PVO? or is everyone receiving their AOR document from that office?
how helpful is it to know which PVO/SVO office is processing my application?
Yes, this means your current PVO is Sydney. However, it could change during the processing of your application. Many of us like to know our VO due to old 'rumors' about some being notoriously slow, but in the end, it may not make much of a difference. During this long waiting game, I personally just want to have something to track beyond the usual 'processing' status. So, it's your call whether you find it valuable or not.

Hi everyone,

My wife applied for the non-EE BC PNP 22 months ago. Her background check took a long time—13 months—to complete on December 11th. Although all steps are marked as completed, the tracker still shows her eligibility as "not started." Has anyone else had a similar experience? It's been over a month now, and we haven’t received any updates.

As her dependent, my background check shows "in progress." Could that be the reason why we haven’t received the portal email yet?

Additionally, my wife recently got a great remote job offer from another province. We're uncertain if she can accept the offer while her PR under BC PNP is still pending. Could this create any issues with the process?

Thanks in advance for your help!
I had similar situation. Dec 2022 submitted PR application. wife is primary applicant and got background check done on Jan 2024, then they started my background check. As of today still in progress…. Not sure what went wrong. Anyone can give any advise?

Hi @Miss bee, I recently read in few groups that they are rejecting the PR application based on birth certificate issue. I didn't have birth certificate either, so I got non availability of birth certificate from municipality along with an affidavit from mum, I also attached all my identity documents from my home country which had my birth date on it including my high school marksheet which has my photo as well as my birth date, do you think I will have any issues or is there anything I can do more ?

Thank you so much!!
