Hello!
I would like to ask something about the working holiday visa and the student visa, I apologize in advance if it sounds like a dumb question but I would really appreciate any advice.
A couple years ago I had a student visa and was studying in Vancouver, loved it, however I had to leave Canada due to some personal problems and go back to the UK.
I would love to be able to get a new student visa and go back, however I’ve seen that the WHV is 18-35 and since I’m 33, I was thinking that maybe I could take advantage of the WHV for 1 year (I think that’s the length of the visa) and then get a student visa.
Is it possible to go with a WHV (1 year), and once the WHV ends just apply to a school and switch to a 2 year Student Visa? (Would be 3 years total between the 2), or do they make you leave the country for a few months in order to switch for WHV to Student Visa?
i’m aware (unless they recently changed it) that in order to get PR, you have to stay in Canada for minimum 2 years (amongst other requirements of course).
I’m sorry if it’s a stupid question but it’s a bit confusing. Would it be a good idea to do WHV first for a year and then Student visa to get 2 extra years?
I was thinking of studying first and once the 2 years student visa end, get the WHV, however if I do that, I would be already 35 and won’t be able to apply.
Thank you!
