"My child has a Visitor Record for 2 years with a stamp in the passport, issued on March 29, 2023, and valid until March 2025. He is accompanying one of the parents on a work permit. My child exited Canada with the parent on November 16, 2023, and re-entered on December 20, 2023 (approximately 1 month later). Upon re-entry, the CBSA officer did not mention any stamp or revised date on his passport, nor did they issue any new document. I just want to ensure that there won't be any future complications with my child's status in Canada. Is this normal, and should I be concerned? Senior members looking for your guidance.

The has up to a 6 month stay upon reentry in December 20, 2023 if no date was noted so if you did not apply for a visitor record would be out of status.

What are my options now? At that time, CBSA officer didn't mentioned anything, and said all good to go. My whole family WP is in process of renewal. Is there possibility they made electronic enteries? Is there any way to double check?

@scylla Is there any way out? Can i go to Airport and try to talk with CBSA officer and explain him whole situation? Additionally, I am anticipating ITA and due to kid overstaying it will make whole application indamissible?

Hi All,

I came across consultations with Senior lawyers and consultants, who all are saying this is an issue on IRCC and CBSA end, and this is not new. There is some disconnect between two departments.

I came across this issue through podcast of Steven, generally highlighting grey areas.

Even i spoke to IRCC yesterday, they can't see any further enteries of my kid despite his exit and rentry. I understand this is not the place to fight this battle, but want to update individuals who can get benefitted from this. Definetely i feel, i need lawyer help in this, even though lot of consultants are claiming this issue is not new and they can handle all this.

No you can’t go to the airport. Only option is to leave and reenter to be back in status.
