Pls I am November 2023 applicant received pre-arrival letter and eligibility letter in Jan 2025. Called Ircc few days told me everything has passed but security has not started pls what does this mean? Cos I was told criminality has passed and I don’t understand what other security that has not started.

I also called three days ago and an officer said security had not started yet. Not started, doesn’t mean they didn’t process it.

Pls what does it mean when they say security has not started yet and criminality is passed including all other steps?

Security screening they check in data base of five countries( Canada, New Zealand, UK, USA, Australia) if You have a file there. Takes between one or nine months. It's the longest . I'm from August 2023 and I didn't start it year.

Can you do me a favour and tell me if person has not been in 5 those countries and has not traveled to these countries how much does it take?

I don't know. I don't work For immigration. Here we guessed and learn from other persons experiences. Nobody know certainly. But if You have it or not, the processing time willi depend on the time one Officer opens your file, received and answer, put all info together and Make final decission. This is the hardest part and takes time.

I'm waiting for they start My security since last May 2024, when I passed elegibility. And no news since then. So take it as an example. Here You Will find more cases like me.
