Hlo guys i just want to let you know my pgwp extension approved today as it may help one’s who are waiting for their decision.
Applied on july 7th, 2024
Received Biometric validity letter 27th january, 2025
Received PGWP- Extension on 28th january,2025
Mode of Application: Online

I applied for pgwp extension paper based due to passport expiry. The document were delivered on 7th December.
I am not able to link the application online so I called IRCC today and they told me they have not received the application and told me to resend to new station 009.
When i called again irrc agent told me we cannot link paper based application at all.
Has anyone experienced this issue before?

Hi, my application got approved today, so I’ll share my timeline in case it helps anyone.
Mode: Paper application
Application delivered: October 9, 2024
Biometrics validity letter: February 3, 2025
Approved: February 5, 2025
Total wait time: 119 days
I was never able to link my paper application to my account until February 3, 2025. I had called IRCC 4 times throughout October to February. On the first call (10/31), the agent said that they couldn’t find my application and told me to send it to station 009. On the second call (11/27), a different agent found my application and gave me a temporary application number but said that I wouldn’t be able to link my application to my account because it’s still temporary.
I got no updates from IRCC (except the ones I initiated through call) until the day before it got approved.

Can I extend my incomplete PGWP after it expires?
I only received 8 months out of the 36-month validity period of my PGWP because my passport was expiring. My PGWP is set to expire on March 10, 2025. I have applied for a new passport, but it is still being processed, and I am unsure if I will receive it before my PGWP expires.
Can I apply for a PGWP extension after the expiry date (March 10, 2025), once I receive my new passport?
What are my options to avoid falling out of status?
I only received 8 months out of the 36-month validity period of my PGWP because my passport was expiring. My PGWP is set to expire on March 10, 2025. I have applied for a new passport, but it is still being processed, and I am unsure if I will receive it before my PGWP expires.

You have 90 days even after PGWP expired, so don't worry. You are already late but still you have a chance, so no need to worry.
won't he/she be out of status when the PGWP expires?
I think the 90 days is only the allowed time to apply for restoration.
And with that, there is no implied/maintain status while waiting for the extension to be processed (unlike apply while in valid status)
Can anyone answer this? I already have a PGWP until June 2025, but my passport will expire on the same date. So, Im applying for a PGWP extension through paper. On the questionnaire, they are asking for my immigration status in Canada. Should I select student or worker? Please reply.
I have job starting just 2 days before my PGWP expiry, and without a valid passport I just cannot apply for an extension and this keeps me Out Of Status. I dont know how to go about my predicament
