Hi,
I am planning on leaving Canada (flying out and back into YVR) in a few weeks for 2 weeks. In early January I submitted my photo and confirmed that I reside in Canada however this has not yet been approved and so I have not yet received an e-COPR. I am currently working and have a valid LMIA-exempt T13 work permit and eTA (until 2026).
My question is will I have any problems getting back into Canada if I receive my e-COPR prior to or while travelling ? And if so what can I do ?
TIA

Yes , you will.
You can't get eCOPR outside of Canada. And if you are issued eCOPR, you need your PR card to travel back which you won't be able to receive in such short period of time.

Thanks for the reply. Anyway around this ?
if I don’t get the e-COPR prior to travel I’m in the clear I gather, but if I do will I need to apply for a PRTD ?

I am not going to further comment on this.
Since it's an unknown on what will happen if someone virtually landed as PR (getting the eCOPR) while they are outside of Canada, I do not know the consequence.
(e.g. applying to renewal PR card in the future and applying for citizenship)

If you don't get eCOPR before you travel, the very safe side is to notify IRCC that you are outside and cannot "land virtually"/get eCOPR until you return.
But there is no clear process and I don't know if submitting a webform is good enough to stop the issue of eCOPR while you are outside.
