I need some advice!

I'm currently working in gaining CEC experienec. Current employer willing to support my LMIA process. My question is:

1. Should I go for the GTS (Global Talent Stream) since my NOC is eligible?

2.Or should I apply for a High Wage LMIA with Dual Intent?

A- Which option would be faster and easier?

B- Are there any major benefits to one over the other?

C- Also, can both be done at the same time?

D- Can I claim 50 pts for lmia as soon it approved or need to wait till apply for close work permit to be applied based on that LMIA?

E-Will this(LMIA and Close WP later on) imapct my current Open Work Permimt which is valid till Aug 2025?

I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences!

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

A. Maybe GTS since employe has to file a Labour Market Plan but neither are going to be a fast process. When did your employer post your job?
B. Not really.
C. Why pay twice.
D. Points are gone within the next couple of months so doesn’t matter.
E. OWP is valid until August and then you need approved LMIA to apply for closed work permit. Currently EDSC is processing April 2024 LMIA applications.

Thanks for response.

For
A, isn't GTS is faster?
D. Okay, but still would be getting closed WP right?(2-3 Years)
E.Basically what I'm looking for it

can I work for any employer as long as have valid open wp(Aug 2025) which over laps with close wp timeline

or cannot work based on open wp even valid while on close one?

A. Maybe.
D. You will know when you get closed work permit
E. Has employer even started the LMIA process. It currently takes 9-10 months for LMIA approval. Your permit will expire by then. You can try and extend but will get refusal without an approved LMIA.

Isn't GTS is like 10-15 Days?

No, convincing them to go with this so starting there
They have to post you job on job bank and other websites and outline the recruitment process to prove no Canadian/PR has the education, work experience or language skills to do the job.

You can claim right away but keep in mind that IRCC is doing away with these points this spring so there may no longer be any points awarded for job offers through EE by the time your LMIA is approved.
