H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

They will ask for valid passport for sure 100%. Maybe you can document their response and provide to case processing centre where visitor record is pending, send them email with Urgent request in subject line. Actually, I doubt they will adjudicate visitor record application without valid passport. IRCC needs valid passport to finalize applications as I know.

Is it possible for you to explain to authorities in your home country your current situation and provide documentation that you have two applications pending awaiting valid passport to be finalized? Maybe they will make exception since you are not illegally and you are on implied status in Canada? Just a thought…

Request an exception and explain the situation. You can submit a webform even before they asked you to avoid delay in processing.

Hope we will get good news in March. I feel like it will exceed the normal processing time since we didn’t get any stage 1 updates in this period but let’s hope dor the best prepare for the worst.

I called IRCC and automatic message replied regarding my application status as below. So what does it mean, it means that they haven`t started to process yet? I already gave my finger prints btw.

Application status: We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results: You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.
Review of additional documents: We do not need additional documents.
Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

You only applied in August 2024. Most are waiting around 2 years for processing which is likely to get longer given cuts to yearly quotas.

Did they request you biometrics already and did you provide biometric already ?

any idea why cic is taking so long to even respond/give a decision to the first stage of H and C application?I understand one or two application can be complex and take more time than usual but not all of our application is complex,looks like myself,FNU,Kate,idris all have passed the 20 month mark but still haven’t received any response from IRCC yet,very frustrating….

I totally understand your plaint, just be patient and good news will find you at your season. Am currently on 25months. Keep holding on bro.

During this 25 months how many assessment your application passed or complated?

They can only process so many application due to capacity issues and given the quota they have been allocated for 2025. Many of those approved in 2024 were put on pause to land in 2025. With quotas tightening yet volume of applicants increasing processing will get much longer.
