BCPNP is prioritizing healthcare currently as per a few people that got their nominations last week. I know alot of people who applied for the IPG stream last year since June haven't got their nominations as of today even though all their applications are in process. They are all working in the Tech field and still waiting. All we can do is wait patiently
for me, no news is good news at this time, just wait, at least no rejection :D

Subject: Does Obtaining EIT from EGBC Help with BC PNP Points?

Hi everyone,

I didn’t attend university in Canada and went straight to work. I live outside Vancouver, so I believe I get 10 points for living and 15 points for working in a regional area. However, my base salary isn’t very high, ( Increased by 5% from 2025, but since my overtime _done out of office_ doesn’t count for BC PNP points, my base salary remains in average and can't obtain for more points. ) and my language score isn’t CLB 8, so I still need more points. Right now, I’m under 120 points in the BC PNP system.

I was wondering if obtaining an EIT (Engineer-in-Training) from EGBC would help me earn additional points. I’m eligible for P.Eng, but since I don’t have a Canadian degree (I have a Master’s in Civil Engineering from my home country with a WES evaluation, and more than 15 years official work experience ), the P.Eng process looks quite complicated—requiring many assessments, references from my home country, additional courses, and exams, which could take over a year.

Based on my company’s advice, they suggested continuing with EIT first, then transitioning to P.Eng after one year, as a better pathway.

Does anyone know if EIT status can add 5 extra points in BC PNP, or does it only work for P.Eng?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

All the best,

No additional Point for EIT/PEng
Thank you. So, there’s no other way to gain more points except for a higher base wage and achieving CLB 8 in all language skills.

Based on my situation as described, do you have any advice, suggestions, or alternative ways to earn more points or obtain PR?

Thanks.

BC PNP allocation reduced for 2025

The federal government has confirmed B.C.’s allocation of provincial nominees for 2025 is 4,000. This is a 50% reduction from 2024.

The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is planning how to use the program in 2025 due to the reduced allocation. This will determine operational matters such as invitations to apply (ITAs) and the opening of the student streams.

The Health Authority and Entrepreneur streams will remain open.

BC PNP processing times are expected to increase for the rest of the year due to significantly reduced nominations allotted to B.C. by the federal government.

This is the last update of Welcome BC website, I'd like to mention that We saw around 11,300 ITAs in 2023, but the cutoff dropped by nearly 45% in 2024, with around 6,100 ITAs across all categories. By the way, BC PNP cutoffs were reduced by 50% in 2024 instead of 2025. Now, for 2025, we have only 4,000 ITAs, just 35% of the 2023 total!

How many applications do you think are already in the pool from those who received an ITA and are waiting for nominations from the province? I really hope there are fewer than 4000 spots this year.

Previous years' applications obtained ITAs with lower scores (80–90 in 2023) and (95–105 in the first months of 2024). So, this is a different situation—the waiting time is a separate matter from the invitation process for new ITAs.

I Created two post for more information and those posts waited for confirm by admin as have link and sources. Today, before this update news, I created two posts for more information. Those posts are awaiting approval by the admin since they contain links and sources.

I’ve checked the draw archives starting from July 2024, when they stopped issuing nominations but continued issuing ITAs. It seems they’ve issued around 2,600 ITAs across all categories. That suggests there should be enough 4000 spots for those with an "in process" status, and there will likely be more draws this year.

I am not sure "Health Authority Stream" is included in your calculation. It seems this stream has different Quota, and not part of ITA, maybe I am wrong

I used the following link to calculate count of ITAs:
https://www.welcomebc.ca/immigrate-to-b-c/bc-pnp-invitations-to-apply-si-2024-pdf

Healthcare is included into this document
Healtcare is not the same with Health Authority Stream, that's my understanding with the information below (BC PNP website)
"
Healthcare
Workers who are direct employees of a provincial health authority or who are physicians, nurse practitioners, or midwives with the support of a provincial health authority can submit an application directly to the Health Authority stream.

Workers who are not employed by a health authority (and so must register in another stream) and who have a job offer in one of the following occupations may benefit from targeted invitations to apply. "

Yes, you're right. The Health Authority Stream is a separate stream, and I haven't included it in my calculations. I couldn't find the number of ITAs issued for the Health Authority Stream in 2024, but I saw that they nominated 473 + 246 people in 2023.

If we add 500 (though I think it's less) to 2600, it would be around 3000. Either way, we still have room under 4000.
