Shocking actually. How are taxpayers topping up over the median income.Interesting that you still get OW with 7k + income monthly

They don’t check really, but that’s neither here nor there.Interesting that you still get OW with 7k + income monthly
But aren’t I technically paying myself ? If this is the theory? We’re not here to judge others or be petty, it’s either we’re being helpful or rude in the comfort of our own homes - not to othersShocking actually. How are taxpayers topping up over the median income.
I agree people shouldn't be rude and should try to answer the questions you have asked. But aren’t I technically paying myself ? If this is the theory? We’re not here to judge others or be petty, it’s either we’re being helpful or rude in the comfort of our own homes - not to others
So as adviced, get off OW for at least a few months. They don’t check really, but that’s neither here nor there.
well, it’s all in my NOA. I file my taxes every year so nothing is hidden. I just work contract jobs.So as adviced, get off OW for at least a few months.
Also you cannot claim OW for the 3 years after the PA becomes PR.
Now, this is a tricky situation. If you show your income to IRCC to proof that you can support your partner as a sponsor, then you are showing income that I believe that you didn't report.
But if you don't, IRCC may have doubt on how you can support your family.
It's up to you, I think. good luck.
If it's in your NOA, then you can show that to IRCC. Bank statements won't hurt. But I don't think it's required.well, it’s all in my NOA. I file my taxes every year so nothing is hidden. I just work contract jobs.
thank you for the advice regarding that.
on my NOA I’m not even seeing social assistance payment added to my total income (line 150)
Should bank statements be included with my application?
It is literally welfare fraud which is a crime. All taxpayers and Canadian residents should be concerned about fraud in all government systems and criminal activity. We should also be concerned about government incompetence. But aren’t I technically paying myself ? If this is the theory? I hope you never work in the social services field.“But aren’t I technically paying myself ?”
You’re kidding, right ?
Please
You can call it anything you want
But in this day & age , yah, people will call others out when the system is literally falling apart and people blatantly abusing it
That including fraud
Yah, as a taxpayer I’ll judge people
Damn right
Like seriously
… btw your social insurance payments aren’t automatically added to your income tax return . Canada works on a self assessment basis . You report all income , social assistance being one of them
Here's the basic facts, from Ontario Works' webpage:I hope you never work in the social services field.
I gave more information voluntarily, being honest with everyone and it’s returned with projection and anger. Everyone’s anger doesn’t change my reality. And guess what? Even when I come off, there are millions more people still on.
You say you're getting Ontario Works, for years now. But you also said you're earning $7k a month. So they should deduct ~$3400 a month from OW payments to you. After you have been receiving Ontario Works for three months in a row, you can earn up to $200.00 a month without having your financial assistance reduced. For every $1.00 you earn after that, Ontario Works will deduct $0.50 from the amount of money you receive from us.
This will continue until you become financially independent and no longer need assistance.
I could answer, but will you use it to further scrutinize me or to help me as to what are the documents I need to prepare a proper package ?Here's the basic facts, from Ontario Works' webpage:

I'm not aware of a level of support available from Ontario Works for even a family with implausible numbers of children that exceeds $3400 a month.
Something doesn't add up. Unless there's something I don't know about this program (possible, I admit).
Please explain, if you will.
Nope, I don't get it. Seems like you're earning far above the maximum to still get funding from this program.Because I’ve been on it as a teenager that wasn’t working my file just stayed open, working or not, get it ?
Essentially never updated OW that they were employed. Assume may also be receiving some sort of top-up as well. OW is incompetent.Nope, I don't get it. Seems like you're earning far above the maximum to still get funding from this program.
I'm sure you're right, although that seems the most basic of requirements:Essentially never updated OW that they were employed.
