Good to know. Calgary appears to have been slow recently on the "test updated" events. I emailed to check on the status to see if they will update mine.
Here's the reply:

Thank you for your message.

Please allow time for an IRCC official to review and update your test results

Thank you/Merci,

Congratulations: on passing the test. Do you have to wait on all the other categories to be completed before you do the ceremony. Therefore, weather I get the test invite before or after these rear has been completed is not as important.

Please share any advice or tools/links you used to prepare or was it simply just reading the book?

Thank you
  • Read the book once
  • Bought this app
    • Went through all the prep material there.
    • Did all the practice tests in it at various times while doing the stuff below.
    • Reviewed all my wrong answers multiple times.
  • Watched this video twice (on 1.5x), taking screenshots of questions I didn't know 100% and made a photo album as flash cards of the questions/answers and reviewed several times.
  • Did this test as a simulation. It only lets you have a single question bank, but it is a really, really good simulation of exactly how the real test works in terms of the UI, buttons, review, the grid, etc.
  • Practiced many times with Richmond Public Library's test (helpful because it allows you to choose the province too)
  • Practiced many times with Toronto Public Library's test (annoying because it assumes you live in Ontario, so it asks Ontario-specific things you won't be asked if you aren't applying from Ontario)
Good luck!

Hey guys,

I called the RCMP to check on my FP results. I submitted them on the 16th. The RCMP staff informed me the results were sent out to IRCC on the 21st of January. Does that mean all is clear and should be expecting background verification to be complete soon ?

Anyone familiar with the matter ?

This simply means that your fingerprints have been sent via Canada Post to the appropriate IRCC office. The next steps involve IRCC receiving them and updating your profile accordingly. If everything is in order, your background check will most likely be cleared shortly after. The entire process typically takes 3–4 weeks, so you can expect updates on the tracker around mid-next month.

In my case, it took 3 business days for them to mark it as complete, and it appeared on my tracker 48 hours later. So, it might show up for you by this Friday if they are still maintaining that pace.

Great. That means the file won't go through additional screening or some sort of that may delay the application by months.

According to their website I saw this:

"If manual processing is involved and/or if there is a possible match to a criminal record
120 business days

In some cases more time may be required due to the submission of incomplete information or in an effort to clarify parts of the application with local police. This process ensures the information that is released by CCRTIS is complete and accurate.

If there is no match to a criminal record
3 business days or less

The results are mailed to the address provided and extra time should be allowed for delivery by Canada Post."

Yes, fingerprints are related to the criminality portion of the application. Security screening, on the other hand, is a separate process that can take longer for some applications. Once both are completed, the background check should be marked as complete.

So you're saying when the tracker updated, it showed a date that was in the past?

Were there any ghost updates that would coincide with the actual date of the update?

What does prohibitions include if it includes neither of those?

I got no ghost updates after I completed my test. Just the update showed up on Jan 10 early morning on the tracker.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the difference between an security screening and a criminality check?

We have seen background pending for many months/ years for people who are on enhanced security screening. Maybe some experts on this forum got more information on how it’s different than prohibitions, as we do answer questions related to prohibitions in our applications.
