I am writing to see if anyone has experienced a situation similar to mine. I am currently in India and received a PR confirmation email yesterday asking for details. What would be the next steps in this case? I am concerned that this might delay my process, as I plan to return to Canada at the beginning of March.
3 things can be done in your case, first of all I believe that when you say IRCC is asking for information then you are probably referring towards P1.
1. Reply to the email with all the required info that they ask everyone and in the Personal Information form there is a line which asks are you in Canada or not? You can reply truthfully and say you are not in Canada and you are planning to come back in March, this will pause your PR Confirmation until you come back to Canada.
2. This option is unethical and I personally won't recommend it but you can try at your own risk, you can say yes in the line where they ask are you in Canada or not? this will let IRCC process your application as usual without any delays but as I said if they find out you are lying then they can cancel the whole process, I personally won't take such a big risk.
3. You can book a flight ticket asap and come back to Canada and you can write in the Personal Information form that you will be back in 2-3 days so they can pause it for 2-3 days and then continue it normally also you need to do this only if you have exceeded the 7 days period that IRCC give you to submit the required info, if you have just received the email then you can book a ticket and come back and then reply to the email.
In all this the third is the best option, you can always come back to India whenever you want but this PR thing is only going to happen once in your life.
