Police Certificate for Citizenship Application

Hi,

I applied for citizenship in November 2024, and after two months, I received an email today requesting a police certificate. I have lived on and off in South Korea after my soft landing, but my stay there was never consecutive for 183 days. I have not traveled since my final landing. Could anyone clarify why the police certificate is required, even though the requirement specifies a stay of 183 days? Also while filling out the application, i don't remember any option where police certificate was to be uploaded.

If your cumulative time living outside of Canada(in South Korea) per trip is not 183 days but is deemed significant by the IRCC, they have the discretion to request a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC).

10) b) In the past four (4) years, were you in a country or territory other than Canada for 183 days or more in a row (since the age of 18)?

Above is the question for PCC upload if you say yes.

i submit same day 11 dec 2024
today i call ircc ask if they recive my fingerprints or not the agent said they recive last weak what you think how long its take to complete backgroung complete for your experience

If nothing negative comes out mostly within 1-4 weeks. But if they have to validate more it will take a lot of time.
