Hello there,

I have applied for OCI on December 30,2024. Postal application was sent. Now, when I check the status on BLS website it says processing at Consulate General but when I check status on OCI website, it says NO SUCH RECORD FOUND. I was wondering if Consulate usually take some time to acknowledge the file and after how many more days will I be able to see the status on OCI website ?

Hello, I have submitted OCI yesterday and have a question related to fees(paid 420CAD) If my OCI my get rejected, will BLS refund the money? the reason why I asked is that because of new rule for submitting the voter & Ration ID. I had it deleted from form7 and wrote voter id number on mandatory declaration form & ration card as "Never applied" as per BLS agent. does anyone got rejected due to this voter & ration card reason? Please share your thoughts here. thanks!

You will get the demand draft/money order returned with your application. Money spent on BLS won't be refunded.

Did BLS Mississauga mention to you that for pick of child's OCI both parents have to be there?
This is the requirement at BLS Brampton.

Our SC and OCI process was done in Nov 2022 and Feb 2023 and in both instances we collected theses documents for the kids in person and that's why I know this is requirement the BLS imposed for pick up of minors documents. Both parents need to provide there ID proof(original) to BLS at the time of collection

Regarding the time, again Brampton standard was that center opened only at 3:00 pm but we started queuing up at 1:45 pm (we were third in the queue then)

Inquiry and Collection: Monday to Friday between 3 PM to 4.30 PM
Yes, BLS told us that we both parents need to be present.
In summer it wouldn't have been an issue but since it's now freezing outside, it will be challenging to wait outside while carrying the infant

for me it took 16 days to reflect in the oci website, walkin application on 21st dec, date of acknowledgement on oci site was jan 7th.

All of you go...(well ahead of the opening)
One person queues up for 15-30 mins and the other person than goes and stands instead.. That how you'll have to manage..
get some masala chai from nearby ;)

Hello All, I had booked an appointment (premium lounge) for applying OCI for my son on Dec 27 but due to medical reasons we were not able to visit the center. I am trying to book another one but it is still showing that you already have an appointment for the same passport. I connected with BLS call support rep and she mentioned that new can’t be booked as existing one is still there in the system. The existing one will lapse after 7 business days from the appointment date. Now 7 bd have gone but still getting same msg. Tried with different centers but no luck. BLS staff will say the same thing that system is still not allowing to book, if I call them and ask them to book one over phone.

Does any one have any guidance on how to book an another appointment? TIA
actaully if existing appointment in place. it will take 3 weeks to disappear. call to them, they will give premium lounge appointment

Thanks, it changed to ready for collection today. Do you know if the file number is the same as Purolator tracking number?
You can put that in https://www.purolator.com/en/shipping/tracker and try.
But that's not the tracking number. When you search on BLS, the tracking number is also populated in some cases when it goes to "Ready for Collection/Dispatch"

It takes time for things to pop up on Purolator side.
