Today received CBSA notes, ordered on Dec 7, 2024 and received on Jan 2, 2025.

Security screening is still in process. I compared two CBSA notes (one was ordered in July 2024 and the other was ordered on Dec 2024).

In CBSA letter on July 2024, Summary of Exemptions shows:
19(1)(a) - Obtained in confidence from a foreign state
21 - International affairs and/or defence of Canada or its
allies
22(1)(b) - Investigative techniques or plans for specific
lawful investigations

In CBSA letter on Dec 2024, Summary of Exemptions shows:
19(1)(a) Obtained in confidence from a foreign state
22(1)(b) Investigative techniques or plans for specific
lawful investigations
26 Personal information of another individual

On the old CBSA notes, there is s.19(1) showing on the right top page.
On the new CBSA notes, no s.19(1) showing

Can anyone know what CBSA notes look like if security screening is close to finish?

For me, SS Comprehensive Security A34 did start Nov 28, 2023, which is more than 13 months AOR is April 4, 2023, and I did submit inland on Feb 28, 2023, soon two years.
I don't want to mention how much I needed for the Provincial nomination.
At least I did extend my work permit, and that was very fast less from 30 days.

These are just citations to Access to Information Act.

HI Fakhir, may I ask whether you had security screening (comprehensive) when you applied for PR? Many thanks, and best of luck with your Canadian Citizenship Application!
I am not sure if I had comprehensive security screening for my PR. I was asked to submit finger prints, but the whole process took about 19 months (14 months after they started they started the process. So, I believe I had a comprehensive security screening for my PR.

Hi, I also received same exact wordings on my letter, AOR NOV 2023, what about yours ?
This is for my parents' immigration.

My dad security screening (A34 comprehensive) started from Dec 2023. He had three years of Conscript almost 60 years ago.

This process is really frustrating and cannot see a hope.

Hey guys, my SS started on may 10 2024. Ever since, no update until oct 4 when I received a ghost update in the tracker site. Can this mean SS is completed or not? (I know it could mean anything but I'm talking about the odds. My AOR is feb 2024 and medical has months to expire)
I immediately requested a CBSA and CSIS note but it would take around a month to get them.
Hi, I have a similar timeline, and I'm undergoing a comprehensive SS. Any new updates on your file? Have you happened to receive your CBSA and CSIS notes? If so, could you please let me know what was on them?
Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

Im an (Iranian) inland CEC applicant and my AOR was dated February 2nd 2024. I just got my GCMS notes and it seems like im the same boat as many of you! It seems like im in the CSBA Comprehensive security screening, however, i was not able to find any mention of CSIS.

Under Admissibilities --> Security I find the following points:
  • Created Date: 2024/04/15
  • Updated Date: 2024/07/16
  • Status: In Progress
  • Due Date: 2025/04/15
And under the Sub Activities I find the following:
  • Created Date: 2024/07/16
  • Updated Date: 2024/07/16
  • Status: Received by CBSA
  • Type: Security Screening
  • Security Screening Type (A34): Comprehensive
  • Screening Priority: Normal

Everything else in the application is passed, including eligibility, criminality, medical, info sharing. Also no s15/s16/s19 is found on the notes but i found s21 in the page where the Sub Activities is noted.. is there anything I can do next? is the estimation of 1-2 years processing time correct for this situation? Since CSIS is not mentioned in the GCMS, can i be happy that i only need to deal with CBSA?
Hi,
Same nationality, same timeline, same category!
Any new updates on your file?
Mine, dead silence. I'm undergoing a comprehensive SS and still waiting to receive the CBSA and CSIS notes I ordered earlier.
Hope to hear good news from you!

Be patient, brother,
As your Compatriot, I've been stuck in SS since September 2023, and still nothing from CBSA.
Everything else, such as criminality, info sharing, eligibility, medical and bio, is completed.

CSIS does an A34 comprehensive background check for Iranians and then CBSA.
The result will be sent to the IRCC secondary officer for decision-making.

I hope you get your clearance soon.
