Hello everyone,
I'm in the process of applying
online for canadian citizenship. While I was filling the application form via their website, I noticed that under the
Residence and tax > Police Certificates, the following question was asked
In the past 4 years, were you in a country or territory other than Canada for 183 days or more in a row (since the age of 18)?
And the website doesn't distinguish between applicants who were staying in their country of origin prior to landing in Canada.
Since in my case, I stayed in my Country of Origin (India) before landing in Canada as PR, should I still provide the PCC ? When I checked the
paper based application guide, the folowing is mentioned under
Question 10.B of Step 4 – Complete the application form
You
don’t need to provide a police certificate if
- you were in your country of origin immediately prior to becoming a permanent resident and landing in Canada, and
- this time falls within the past 4 years
So pls guide me on whether should I still provide the PCC given my situation. Any help on this would be much appreciated
