Hello, what did you give the purpose for there travel? I want to apply for my parents, they had visa before but it's expired, now I am worried and want to make sure that the purpose of travel is valid as the new policies are scary.

Folks anyone who submitted passport to VFS early November and got back their passports? I guess we will have to track timelines for previous candidates like most of us did for COPR tracking.
I've been doing email to VFS 3 times a week, and they've standard replies stating embassy requires minimum 10-12 business days to finalize visa stamping.

VFS submission - 11/25
Received at IRCC - 11/26
VO: Delhi
Status remains same since then.

I guess no work expected from 23 to 31st December. Staff would hardly be working in this week. how can they keep someones' passport for so long. if you want to take time, don't give approvals so quickly.

Hi,

I applied for my myself, my parents and my aunt. We are Indian nationals with a valid US visa. If your parents have had a prior Canada visa, like us they will qualify for CAN+ (expedited processing and no proof of finances required). Just Google CAN+.

Purpose of Travel: Roundtrip cruise from Vancouver to Alaska. Duration of visit: 10 days.

Just FYI: We have no family in Canada. The current issue for all nationalities is that anyone with any family ties in Canada is being denied due to the "perceived risk" of overstaying or never leaving. I guess the fact that our purpose is strictly tourism may have helped as did our profiles - doctors, professor and MBA, and extensive travel history. Also, we didn't attach any proof of funds since it wasn't required.

Hi Everyone,

I applied for my parent's visitor visa on October 12th. They completed their biometrics on October 15th but I got a visa refusal(on dec 11) for them. I was inviting them for a month because I am pregnant (Due in end of March 2025). I am here on work permit and my husband is a Canadian citizen and my spousal permanent residence application is left with background verification. My parents showed 30,000 cad bank balance and 1.5 million dollars property evaluation signed by Indian CA. They also showed their business and tax returns from last 3 years. My mom is house wife and my dad run two business. This is the refusal message they received.

"I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR .I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable)."

Can someone help in figuring what must have gone wrong? I thought inviting them into Canada on parental support during my pregnancy would be a solid reason to get the visa quickly. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
