Hello i been granted citizenship as a refugee for the past 2 years . ( never returned to my country of origin before ) . my mother passed away now i have to return in order to sort out inheritance matters.
i would need a national id which expired for awhile in order to sort out my things almost all administrative procedures require a national id as i am a dual citizen and foreign is not recognized and usually they ask you that at customs in airport since i am still citizens to my country of origin

would that make ircc scrutinize my case .

ive been reading through this forum and never seen a thread in regards of this matter its only about passports.

thanks for any insights

happy christmas/ new year

Are you talking about returning to your home country? If so, that puts you at risk of cessation.
Hi scylla i already received my canadian citizenship my concern is will i have problems if i renew my id in my home country because i need it for many purposes. most offices require that over there as i intend yo return my mothers land country

i just searched on chatgpt and it says it could raise concerns even after acquiring citizenship as a refugee because it can be interpreted as re establishing ties with my country of origin

If you are already a citizen there are no issues.

Don't use chargpt or anything similar for immigration advice. They produce some very wrong results.

To be clear, there are no issues from Canada's perspective. I can't comment on your home country.
