anyone any thoughts please? My parents lived in Qatar from 1996-1997 but we can’t find their old passports with the visas which is a requirement for police certificates from the Qatar embassy. We called the embassy and they said we have to send in an application to them anyways with a letter. They will then forward our request to the Qatari police in Qatar and it will take 3 months to get a response if they can issue a police certificate or not.
if we show proof of our efforts to obtain this police certificate and explain the lost passports etc will IRCC grant us an exception?
I didn't not get AOR but requested for more doc. Is that normal process too??yes, I received AOR on Oct 4
to which email address you got the update ? is it to sponsor email address or principal applicant email address? ThanksPraise the Lord for an update - Today Dec 12th received email that we have 30 days to submit biometric for both parents.
My case, principal applicant does not have an email address ( my dad would not care, lol) and so same as mine ( Sponsor)to which email address you got the update ? is it to sponsor email address or principal applicant email address? Thanks
in my case, PCC submitted Oct 19th and the next update received on Dec 12th was for biometrics ( gap of ~54 days). So your next update could follow similar timelinesDid anyone received news after submission of PCC asked by IRCC, we have submitted on 16/11/2024, but no news and updates thereafter.
Can anyone focus on the same.

Do what's suggested. Send the proof to IRCC. It's up to IRCC officer to accept this and grant an exception or NOT.Bump can anyone please help or comment on this
Thank you this is what I was hoping to understand. I.e is there room in the law for an exemption.Do what's suggested. Send the proof to IRCC. It's up to IRCC officer to accept this and grant an exception or NOT.
That's why no one answered your question. It's not up to us. (we did see some cases got exemption but it doesn't mean ALL cases)
All you can do is, do everything in your power to obtain the PCC with the documents you have. You'll need to show proof that you have applied and present the proof if it takes longer than 30 days. If you receive a PCC, submit it as soon as you receive it. And once you receive a response from the PCC authorities that they are unable to provide you one, you'll need to send that over to IRCC as soon as you receive it.Thank you this is what I was hoping to understand. situation as it stands is that the passports are from 1996 and cannot be found. Qatar requires them to issue the certificate. They do however provide a rejection letter if they cannot provide the pcc. I am hoping IRCC would understand this.

As @YVR123 said, it's up to the adjudicating IRCC officer to grant you an exemption or not. Wait to see what happens once you submit it. If they don't accept it, your options are to contact a reputable immigration lawyer who can advise
