Hello i applied for refugee last year and got accepted. my brother passed away and needed to visit him to take care of funerals.
my county of origin is algeria . my question is
can i travel to europe with Rtd then stay thefor a couple of weeks and after that i travel to canada . it would deter agents in canadian airports from checking i was in algeria but rather in europe.
please help me

It's not against the law.

It DOES, however, run the risk of IRCC deciding this was reavailment and potentially losing refugee/PR status completely.

No advice given will remove the risk. It's up to the individual to decide.

For the record, I would say that it is NOT worth it.

Canada is watching for refugees/protected people visiting neighbouring countries. You would also have to use your Algerian passport which would make the case for reavailment even worse. Intentionally deceptive behaviour harms cases associated with reavailment that are posted on CANLI. It becomes impossible to deny that you knew you were not able to return to your home country as a protected person. You would also require a visa to land in Spain with an RTD I believe. It is up to you to determine what your level of risk is and what would be the consequences to your life if you lost your status in Canada. Getting status via asylum or as a refugee comes with a lot of benefits for many who would not have qualified for PR otherwise but has significant drawbacks and sacrifices which is why it should always be the last option.
