There is no acknowledgement and no tracker for RTDs. You can send them a webform (see the "after you apply" page) or call to ask about the status of the application. How can i track my application? I sent it 1 week ago and i didn't receive any acknowledgement from them

Just send another webform for clarifications or call them. You were "lucky" to get one of those totally clueless but fancy agents)Hi
I recently applied for RTD and today I sent an email to ircc to check on the status of my application. I got a reply saying they have sent me a correspondence over my preferred channel.
1. I don’t know what that means, I applied on mail and I’m not sure whether they have sent whatever correspondence to my address.
2. Why wouldn’t they email me the correspondence
3. I have been thinking if the correspondence is actually my passport.
Has anyone experienced this?
For RTDs, they are notorious in terms of not respecting urgency. But do send a web form(link on "after you apply" page) and call them to follow up. Also, when they do issue and send it, they now use Purolator, and our documents get stuck with them too. My "urgent" RTD processing is close to 6 weeks now.Hi, has anyone been successful in getting an expediated RTD? If, yes, what is the channel through which one has to follow? I have traveled planned for Dec. 19, 2024 and current RTD got stuck with Canada post while on the way to Ghana embassy for visa issuance. I was advised by an agent to submit a new application and courier in which i did last week. Now i just don't how to communicate with them the urgency. If you have any information please share.
Yes, I have been calling and submitted a webform 3 times now ( 2 prior to submitting and 1 after submission) but no response. I mailed in my package by Fedex and was even willing to send in a prepaid fedex envelop but the agent said it wasn't necessary. I hope someone with empathy pickup my file for processing. Rearranging plans is not as simple as it said. I hope there is some good news by end of day today from Canada post. What's happening is beyond frustrating and hope relief comes soon. For RTDs, they are notorious in terms of not respecting urgency. I recommend that you revise travel plans. RTDs are not treated the same way as passports. Likely, you will get the one stuch eith Canada post faster than the new one.
I sent them a pre-paid fedex label too, but by that time, according to them, they already sent it with Purolator. But it seems in any case they would not use Fedex. Even for Purolator, they used the cheapest option possible. Basically, the treatment for non-citizens is at a different level. For passports, one can always hope for urgency of any level and special arrangements in different circumstances. For RTDs - it's a "shut up and wait" attitude.Yes, I have been calling and submitted a webform 3 times now ( 2 prior to submitting and 1 after submission) but no response. That is indeed sad. Unfortunately, I live all the wayout here in Oshawa but if I was in Ottawa I would've shown up to their office. I do not want to commute five hours for no reason. I have search google every way i know to find a #, or email address for that department but no luck. I really don't know what else to do.I sent them a pre-paid fedex label too, but by that time, according to them, they already sent it with Purolator. I live 15 min from them, but you cannot simply show up in their office, it is closed to public. And they do not allow pick-up of RTDs. They did not even allow me to deliver my documents there myself. I brought them as my own "courrier", but they sent me to a post office to do it.That is indeed sad.
