My target is Feb 1st for the eCOPR, March 1st for card in hand. This is all assuming that Canada Post workers are legislated back to work by Feb 1st.

Sponsor Approval PDF - Dec 3 - Complete
Pre-Arrival Oct 26th - Complete
AIP Oct 26th - Complete
Medical - Complete
Prints - Complete
AOR - Complete
Application Data - May 16th

Yeah sounds about right
Looking at the previous month’s post
After AIP its usually took them 3-4 month for ecopr
So lets hope they will do it soon

The strike is probably the biggest delay right now but it is what it is. Until CUPW gets legislated back to work; CEIU (IRCC's union) will not start couriering packages unless there is a compelling emergency. That is basically crossing a picket line.

Medicals updated: COMPLETED Oct 30 2024 .. ps Medicals was never requested....well im guessing they pulled/ used medicals Principal applicant did in 2022 for study permit... and no we do not have a copy of the Medicals and so we never had to send it in through web form as some did. So yea... this is good... Lol.

SPOUSAL APPROVAL (email); received Dec 2 2024. Little story with this one... PA received Prearrival Oct 24... and I waited about a week after hoping by then to receive the Spousal approval (SA)... but nothing received. So I decided to call them and they said SA email was sent to me Nov 3 ... I never received ..checked spam junk etc.. nothing. So the agent put in a request to have it resent to me... finally received Dec 2.

What do they send via mail? Outside of the physical card, everything is online no?

This is sponsor approval I believe. You don’t need to do anything.

I will answer from my experience. Can't say I am 10000% sure


1. I think so. The sponsor should receive an email about it. (but that was back in Jan this year) I don't know if it changed. However, we never got the mail version of it, though. I feel like you should be able to check on your tracker to see if the eligibility portion is completed and if it is, you guys should be receiving the email

2. My husband got an email with the subject: " Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada - Communication to client/Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada - Communication auprès de la clientèle - CPCM / CTDM - Inland Sponsorship Eligibility Decision Letter XXXXXXX "

In the email, it would be something like:

Dear Client,

This email is regarding the Application for Permanent Residence that you submitted to this office.

Attached please find a letter related to your application. Please fully read the attachment and save this message for your records.

Then in the attached PDF, it should be...

SPONSOR's NAME
This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in
Canada Class you submitted to this office on behalf of PA's NAME and family
(if applicable).
You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent
Residence (APR) for your relative will be processed separately and he/she will be contacted
shortly.
If you received this communication via email, please note that another copy will not be mailed to
you.

3. Can't say for sure,. All the stages have to be completed and we might not know until we got eCOPR?

It just means they approved you as a sponsor which is part of eligibility. The next part is to approve your spouse. It’s good news, just one step closer to the finish line. There are no next steps for you. Just wait. What’s your timeline?

Just correcting you a bit, it's Sponsor Approval (as far as I know).

oh and btw, I was thinking of calling them but never actually called. Oct 26/28 we received AIP and Dec 3 we received Sponsor Approval. It was delayed that much. Not sure if the Agent was telling you the correct thing... just saying

All is well though, any movement is a good indicator, right?

I called yesterday just to poke around and they said nothing exciting other than that my sponsor was approved July 22? I mean I’ll take it but I didn’t receive anything. ‍
