Congratulations! Could you please confirm if you opted for paper certificate or e-certificate in your application?

@hssrp Could you please advise if you know how in-person or virtual ceremony are assigned to applicants? Is it dependent on the fact what type of citizenship certificate was opted in the application?
In-person or virtual ceremonies are randomly assigned based on which one is available. It does not depend upon the type of certificate selected in the application.

Update: November 21, Language and Physical presence completed. Background and prohibitons are still pending.
We submitted fingerprints on November 14, yesterday I called RCMP, and they sent me a verification e-mail, that they already sent the document to Vancouver ircc on November 19. But stucked at the post office due to the strike..
if they receive the fingerprints, should I except them to update the background and prohibitons together? Or is it a bad sign that the prohibitons did not complete?
They will update the prohibitions after the background is completed.

Thank you @Cayman. My language skills and physical presence was marked completed yesterday November 21, 2024. The prohibitions and background check is still in progress.

I noticed that my child's application status still shows In Progress and has no update. Is this normal? is it because he's a minor and dependent on the main applicant? Please share your experience.
Yes, thats perfectly normal. Minor applicants do not see any progress until they are scheduled for the oath.

The optimal solution I would suggest is request to reschedule the oath and let them know of your unavailability. Once you attend your ceremony you cannot travel on your Indian passport. I don't think currently there is any explicit issues in getting e-Visa but given your travel period the best option would be to reschedule your oath.

Alternatively, if you are planning to travel after December 20th, I think still have some chances of getting your Canadian passport through urgent request and then apply for e-Visa but will be neck to neck for sure.

Reschedule of Oath or you can delay your plans to India by few weeks so you get canadian passport and then apply for India Visa from Canada (Not sure how long it takes time to get Indian visa). I don't believe you can travel with Indian passport after getting Canadian Passport and you using Indian passport.

Hi All,

Haven't seen too much activity happening in this thread lately. Have things generally slowed down? I have not heard anything since my Citizenship Test update in the tracker on 11th September. I believe there are a few others as well in the same boat. My processing office is Scarborough. Any idea how Scarborough has been progressing lately? Has anyone from the July applicants received Oath invites from Scarborough recently? Have hit the 4 months mark with my application, so just getting a bit anxious.

Thanks.

The current processing time on IRCC website is 7months. That being said, I’ve seen few July 2024 applicants that have received invitations for the oath ceremony but majority of us are still waiting. I’m sure there’ll be more updates from July applicants in the coming month. Fingers crossed.

If you review the sheet, you can see how things are progressing for July. i also think there’s a bit more engagement within July folks outside of this forum.
