Renew PR card. do i need proof of residency in the past 5 years if I haven't left Canada since i landed here?

she is not renewing her passport, because she doesn't have a passport. the only thing she wants to do is renew her PR card as it is nearing expiry.

she does NOT own a passport and she is NOT renewing her passport. she is trying to renew her PR card.

I'd suggest to also attach a short letter of explanation: short, factual, and address specifically the situation. Eg "I am providing [other type of identification] because I arrived in Canada without passport in [year] and became a PR in [year.] I have not left Canada in that time, and I have not obtained a new passport since then from my country of origin (as I am a protected person). Hence all I have for identification is what I provided when I applied to become a protected person/PR, copies of which are attached."
