I knew I was somehow going to come off like a jerk. I have been looking and researching but became so overwhelmed. I thought maybe I was looking up the wrong things or going in the wrong direction. I have never been to Canada, I know I made it sound superficial but I wanted to stay away from the real reasons. I am scared for my family. I think terrified is a better word but I didn’t want to upset anyone. I do not have a clue how to use Reddit. I never really have been on a forum before.

So you want to immigrate to Canada?
you have made your first post as if you can just moved over to another country without doing much research.
You don't have to give us the real reason behind WHY you want to move. But assuming that you are from USA, you can visit Canada and stay for up to 6 months with no much issue.
But you cannot move and live in another country just like that. Canada and US are 2 different countries.
If you have special skill/education...etc., you can look into getting employed and get a work permit. Look into LMIA or LMIA-exempted jobs. Those would be closed work permit.
Some companies do international transfer, so that's another possibility for closed work permit. Your employer's immigration lawyer will need to help on this process.
Or if you have specific education you want to advance in Canada, you can look into being an international student. Tuition is much more expensive compare to local students. (3x or more) And you need to show that you have the financial ability to live in Canada (savings) and to pay the expensive tuition. You also need to show how the education will help you to advance your career.
Similar, Canadian who wants to move to US will need to go through similar process. Starting likely with work permit.
So short answer for your posted question, No, you cannot just move and then "figure out" later.
Immigration is complicated and a big life decision.
