My parents biometrics are expiring Dec 21 2024.

I applied to extend their stay in Canada on Oct 10 2024 asking for two more years. I just received a letter from IRCC confirming the biometrics are valid until Dec 21 2024.

will they only be issued the extension until Dec 21 2024? Do the biometrics need to be valid for the entire two year period we requested? What should I do?

It says "Final decision" Oct 31: In Progress on GC key. Is it too late? I already sent in a webform
