Hello, I'm inquiring on behalf of a friend who has a refugee case pending for a hearing. The case was submitted in January 2024 and was referred to the IRB. In September, they received a letter on the IRCC portal. This is the first time I am seeing a CV is requested. Is this something new, or is there anything to be worried about? I would appreciate any response on this. Thank You :)

The letter states " This letter refers to your application for refugee protection in Canada. We need the following documents to continue processing your application: 1. A detailed CV outlining the applicants employment history/memberships/government positions including a description of their duties. Please note the requested supplementary information is due 24/OCT/2024. A request for an extension may be submitted; however it must be made in writing to the CINSS and prior to the due date for further consideration"

Hi there! It’s not uncommon for the IRB to request a CV, especially if they want more background information on your friend’s work history, education, or any gaps in their timeline. It doesn’t necessarily indicate any issues—often, it’s just part of the process to get a clearer picture of the claimant’s background.

Since this is the first CV request you've seen, it may feel unusual, but it’s generally routine for the IRB to ask for additional documents as they prepare for the hearing. Just make sure the CV is accurate and aligns with the details already provided in the case. Good luck to your friend!

What does it have to do with an Arabic-Islamic country? Dude people like you are the reasons Con*** were introduced, but little did your mother know what a piece of je*k would be born on this earth. Also, the person in the context has worked with the United Nations as a cluster head that people like you can only dream of, and the references to his work are available in the National Documentation Package that IRCC takes into consideration for providing a decision.
