Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experienced a similar issue with the processing time for a temporary visit visa to Canada, specifically for my father, who is a retired general from the security forces with a clean record.
It’s been over 4 years since we applied for his visa, and despite submitting the application twice (each time with all the required documentation), we still haven’t received any updates. My father meets all the outlined requirements, so this delay is quite confusing and frustrating.
In the GCMS notes, I saw that there were “poor quality fingerprints” after several attempts. However, no one has requested that we resubmit his fingerprints, despite having filed two applications since 2021. I’m unsure what this note means or how I should proceed with this.
I’m a Canadian citizen and urgently need my father to visit. Every time I follow up via email, I receive a vague response saying the application is still under background check with no further details.
If anyone has been through something similar or has insights on how to resolve this, your advice would be greatly appreciated. What can I do to expedite this process, and how can I address the fingerprint issue?
Thanks in advance for any guidance or recommendations!
Regards,
Mark
