hello, can someone update on the timelines for close work permit inside Canada. I applied in may and still no response.
has anyone gotten the approvals for LMIA bases work permit from inside Canada recently?

I applied on 1st August 2024 for work permit extension also LMIA ( high wage) still nothing even not LMIA yet.

Given the higher unemployment rate and press about LMIA fraud plus volume of applicants IRCC may actually be tightening their policies. No closed WP is guaranteed these days where it once was ridiculously easy which is why Canada is in this temporary resident mess.

Agreed but this is for all new people not the ones already following policies already set and implemented.

Would expect that IRCC is trying to crack down on unnecessary LMIAs and WPs that they feel could easily be filled by those already in Canada with the ability to work. Actually looking at who is applying for WPs and trying to vet LMIAs doesn’t require new policies. The new policies prevent applications outright.
