Hi everyone, my WP extension was approved along with my spouse's open work permit and child's visitor record.
Application Type - LMIA-Based Closed Work Permit [NOC - 11110] [I was on SOWP dependent on my spouse's LMIA-based closed work permit before. My employer agreed to sponsor my LMIA and we...
I was on a spousal open work permit earlier [my wife was on an LMIA-based closed permit before]. Later, I applied for a work permit extension/change in conditions as my employer filed for my LMIA. Yes, I applied for a work permit before approval of my LMIA by submitting the LMIA application...
Hello Everyone,
It seems there are no recent approvals/updates on LMIA-based Closed work permits (Inland). Could everyone post their timelines here for better insights:
Below are my details:
NOC - 11100
W/P Application Date - 03 May
LMIA Approval - 15 Aug (Uploaded same date)
No update yet!
I was in a similar situation. I traveled to the U.S. and came back on TRV as a visitor. As I traveled outside Canada, I lost my maintained status and hence stopped working now. Still waiting for approval for my work permit application.
Unfortunate to hear about this. Did you not submitted your positive LMIA to IRCC for processing work permit application? Which NOC or job you applied for LMIA?
Hello,
You may leave the country but you will loose your maintained status. You have to travel on your TRV (if it is valid) but you can't work here until you get the decision on your application. While entering office may ask that do you have enough funds to stay until your application is...
Can you please elaborate on the reason for rejection? Sorry, I am in a similar situation and curious to know what could be the reason to reject even after getting the approval of LMIA. Thanks!
High-Wage LMIA already approved. WP in progress.
Even we submitted the WP application, I have one doubt that whether our application be extension (or change in conditions - open to close) application OR it will be new application for the principal applicant?
Thanks for providing this info. Did you crossed your 180 days eligible extension period on maintained status? If yes, how did you manage this situation?
Same Case for me - You can both apply for work permits (say extension or change in conditions or whatever) and will get an AOR that you both have to maintain the status. It means your wife has to work with the same employer (while she was on a closed work permit).
