Residency Obligations - Soft landing

Hi,

I am planning to complete a soft landing in Canada for 45 days before relocating permanently in 2025.

Could someone please advise me on the documents I need to collect to ensure that my 45 days will be counted toward my Residency Obligations later on?

The problem is when you exit Canada, there's no exit stamps on passport.

How about your bank statements showing spending money at Canadian supermarkets, transit, restaurants, etc.?

Apart from getting the records, easiest is to keep records yourself and whatever receipts or whatever related to travel (boarding passes, etc).

Now note, for the residency obligation, IRCC does not typically request 'proof' (concrete specific evidence) of all days in country. You submit your records*, they can check against the entry and exit records they have (exit is from airlines and US border patrol under info-sharing). If the info you report is accurate, usually (esp now) it will match against what Canadian border services has. And usually not much if anythign more is requested about specific days.

*[editadd] By 'your records' here, I mean you literally submit a list of your entries and exits. They don't ask you to document each of those entries and exits.
