Hi,

I submitted a reconsideration request for my father's refused visitor visa and received the following response:-

"Your request for reconsideration was forwarded to the officer who was the decision-maker on your application. Our records show that the officer carefully reviewed the information you provided but The PAN number XXXXXXXXXX for INDIAN INCOME TAX RETURN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT 2022-23 was not confirmed. Therefore, the original decision remains unchanged."

Please help me understand what steps I can take to fulfill this request?

Nothing to do as his TRV was refused. Reconsideration was refused and original decision stands.

Doesn't the reply to the reconsideration request clarify the reason for the refusal?

Assume that was only reason and not generic reasons like will not leave Canada. So during the IRCC background checks, the Indian government didn’t verify the information or acknowledge the request. If that is correct then this is on the Indian government for not replying to request for information.

Did the application specifically ask for Pan card? I don’t remember that being on the application.

I have never seen a reason for refusal being only because applicant didn’t submit PAN card. Makes no sense.

So, you mean I can resubmit the same application if this is something beyond our control? Also, the reason for the refusal is general, but this specific reason was mentioned in the reconsideration response letter, not in the GCMS notes. The GCMS notes have not been received yet.

So what were reasons for refusal? Why did you ask for reconsideration? Reconsideration is for an error in law. You can reapply but need to provide additional information to address reasons for refusal. If notes focused on PAN number then include that information.

This is the second refusal. In the notes from the first refusal, the reason cited was inadequate finances. This time, I applied with adequate financial documentation, but the application was refused again. I have requested the refusal notes, though I have not received them yet. I also submitted a reconsideration request, to which I received a response citing an issue with the PAN.
