Good day,

For PNP candidates who got nominations based on employer support, do government organisations in Canada help with Employer portal and payment of 230$ for LMIA-exempt work permit support ?
eHealth, Saskengery, Saskpower, Government of Saskachewan, Saskachewan Health Authority etc etc....ontorio health etc

Same question for other provinces....... I do know that banks dont help either with nomination or work extension.

Please share your experience...One admin guy in the govt sector said they dont do but I need to be double sure. Any info will be appreciated.

What you mean help you? You have to apply for your work permit by help of your employer paying all fees and compliance fees which is $230 . Nobody is going to help you regarding this unless you hire someone like paid representative.

What PNP program have you been nominated for? Job offer or not. Government agencies will not support a job offer stream.

@Naturgrl Thanks so much for your response. I have applied for SINP...with job offer........ employer restricted ....PGWP expiring
They did help with the Job Approval Letter with which I got the nomination. Already applied for PR via EE. However need the Employer support via Employer Portal LMIA exempt-T13 to be working while my PR is in process.

Regards,

So that is an issue with your employer. No one can help you with tha. You have to ask them to file for exemption through IRCC Employer Portal, so you get LMIA exemption number to apply for work permit.

  • Government of Canada - Hiring SINP Nominees: To obtain a work permit for the nominee you have hired, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requires employers to complete an online form and pay an Employer Compliance Fee of $230 for each foreign national requiring an Employer-specific Work Permit. Learn about the process. Employers submit the offer of employment form and pay the employer compliance fee through the IRCC Employer Portal.

Thanks that you took time for responding to my query. Appreciate.

My question was, do government agencies, crown agencies help with paying the 230$ fee in the employer portal ? I work with health authority of Saskachwan and the HR said they dont. But issue is they are very new to this SINP process and i want to know if health authorities or govt agencies do the Job Portal process and pay the 230$ fee for the lmia-exempt fee.

Thanks a lot.

What do you mean by ”help”? The employer pays and files or they don’t. It is the employer’s choice. If they don’t want to pay the fee and file that is their decision and are not forced to. They are under no obligation to do so.

Thanks so much @Naturgrl ......Issue is, they say they dont do this process. My fear is they are not aware of the process at all as they started doing job offers for SINP very lately. They think this is an LMIA. So, was trying to know if there is anyone here who had this experience elsewhere in other province or with other govt agency. It is possible the HR is not aware, but equally is possible that they can NOT do this process because they are government.

So anyone who has gone through this process can kindly share their thoughts.

This is specific to SINP, not other provinces because each PNP has different requirements. Your employer is under no obligation to file and all you can do is outline the process to them to make them understand that when your permit expires, you can no longer work for them.

They will certainly be aware of the process if they are the government. The PNP programs have been around for many years now and are not new. The question is not whether HR is aware or not. The question is whether HR policies allow them to support the process. I think you will need to ask them directly. Good luck.
