Hi!

Just received an email with an attached document stating:

“Your application for permanent residence is now ready for finalization pending the confirmation of your permanent residence status. You’ll complete this process through the Permanent Resident Portal (PR Confirmation).”

It asked me to provide further information too.

Does that mean that the PR has been approved? Or can it be rejected too?

Thank you.

It has been approved and the last steps are mostly administrative formalities.

Can it be rejected? Yes, in the sense that if anything comes up (they discover a criminal record or something untrue in docs to date) - or if the formalities are not completed - but other than that, it's done. Note, since being done through the virtual landing process, some bits of information / reality are critical - doing the formal steps, but also being in Canada when the last steps are done (and hence confirmation you are in Canada when asked).

But it is real that it's approved and the last steps just need to be completed; they're not out there looking for additional issues, just the formalities and routine confirmations (mostly provided by you) that nothing has changed.
