Visitor Visa Application Stuck from last 3 months.

Dear Members,

I submitted a visitor visa application for my mother (she is in India) on June 12, 2024, and received the biometric request letter the following day. The biometrics were completed on June 18, 2024, and are reflected at the top of the application along with the expiry and biometric number. However, under the “Biometrics” section where it reflects the status, it still states, “We have not received your biometrics,” while the background check is marked as “In progress.” This status has remained unchanged since the application was submitted.

I contacted IRCC, and the agent informed me that it appears the visa officer has not yet touched the file. As the application has exceeded the “normal processing times,” they sent a message to the visa officer requesting an update. It has now been almost three weeks, and there are still no updates. I also submitted a web form, but have not received any response.

Is anyone else experiencing a similar situation, and is there anything else that can be done given that the normal processing time has passed?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi, thank you for your response.

just to be clear, MP, is the member of parliament in the locality my mother lives? Is that correct?

thank you
MP is the member of parliament where you live in Canada
google your area and find out whose constituency your house falls in
you can reach out to their office on email or phone call.
