Okay please forget about AINP/AOS for a minute and focus on my OWP only.
I need to know if nothing will happen to my OWP assuming that I'll get it and quit this current job while my AOS application us being processed.
I don't want to know anything else in this question.

That is what my answer addressed. Please read it again. AINP/AOS cannot be ignored. Since the OWP will have been granted based on the AOS application, IMO it's potentially going to be very relevant what happens with AINP/AOS. You cannot look at the OWP in pure isolation. But again, the rule is so very new that it's all just a guess at this point.

Otherwise people would simply submit an AINP application, get the OWP, then bail on their employer, not care what happens to the AINP application, and have an OWP. IRCC isn't setting this up to give people a loophole for obtaining an OWP. It's mean to enable people to continue working while a PNP application is in progress. If people end up using it as a loophole to get an OWP, I expect that is going to be a problem for them.

You're looking at this too narrowly. That's what all of us are trying to tell you.

Ultimately your choice what you do.

This new rule is not meant to facilitate OWPs for people wanting to get out of their current employment situations. That's not the purpose.

If that's what you end up using it for, then it may work out fine for you however I do think there is also a misrepresentation risk. So you'd have to be prepared to deal with the consequences of misrepresentation.

So Alberta posted who will get letters of support. Focus on current applicants with expiring permits in 2024 or expired work permits. You cannot apply for it and AAIP will contact you if approved.

Alberta Opportunity Stream and Rural Renewal Stream nominee applicants may be eligible to receive a letter of support to seek a maximum 2-year, open work permit from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The ‘Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates’ signed with the Federal government applies to Alberta Opportunity Stream and Rural Renewal Stream nominee applicants who:

• were waiting for a final decision on their application as of August 26, 2024, and who held a valid work permit with an expiry date between May 7 and December 31, 2024, at the time of application
• had their application declined between May 7 and August 26, 2024, on the sole basis that their work permit had expired in 2024

Applicants cannot apply to participate in this initiative. The AAIP will complete an initial assessment to determine which nominee candidates are eligible. Applicants will need to demonstrate they are likely to meet minimum requirements for their stream and have a valid Alberta job offer.
